LR w/ matte black front lip?

Had this on my Lexus:

Thinking of going the same route again with the OEM front lip for the '03-'05, but not sure how it will contrast with Laser Red (it went really well with the SC's champagne). Has anyone done this before? Any pictures? Searched through the LR pics thread with no luck.

Currently my G35 has a Gialla grille that's painted OB with a black pearl emblem- got it a few months ago so I didn't really have the opportunity to modify/paint it. In conjunction with the matte black lip, I could leave the grille as-is, take black pearl emblem off, swap it out with a regular chrome emblem, paint it LR, etc: lots of options open.

TIA for the feedback.

Beautiful LR coupe, you could do the lip on the G35 too couldn't hurt. I'd like how your coupe looks if you'd paint the Gialla grille red to match, kinda looks like a black eye....Ouch!

At first the idea sounded pretty good since usually you can pull off a black lip but after seeing the picture ^^ its ... pretty bad.

no offence ^

OP - the differences between the matte black lip on your Lexus and the matte black OEM lip you want on your G are quite significant, IMO. First of all, the color, obviously. Secondly, the lip on your Lexus isn't much of a lip. If anything, it's like the Home Depot garage door lip that so many people on here do (quite commonly done on Nismo bumpers), which does actually look decent in matte black because it's small and subtle. An OEM lip, or any other lip for that matter, should be color matched. Unpainted or even gloss black just looks out of place and unfinished.

sxexcx's car: gloss black grille matches/ties in with the gloss black accents on the Nismo bumper. Matte black Home Depot garage door lip is nice, small, and subtle.
