Tire HELP.

I did a search and could not find the answer. My tires are "Feathered" and they have 75 percent left. The sound has gotten louder.

If I were to have the tires switched.... left to right... so that the part that is feathered on the inside.. is now outside... will that make the sound go away? Please help if you know. Thank you!

Then the tire would just become feathered in the opposite direction and the noise would resume if it actually does goes away. I'm assuming an alignment shop couldn't fix it. If the toe can't be adjusted, I would just buy aftermarket components to fix the problem.

I read that you can change the camber to as close to zero as possible but it will noticeably change the performance. It would make the tires last longer though. The sound was so loud I took it to the dealer and they put on new hub bearings under powertrain warranty. I was happy to have that done but it didn't change the sound much at all. Thanks for your input.

If you don't care about cornering then having 0 camber would be best for the tires. I like handling so I always keep a -1 degree, really doesn't wear the tires abnormally too much.

If the info in your sig is correct then I too have an 06 and have never had this problem, mainly just camber issues from lowering. This problem was common on the older models but was supposedly revised on our cars. I suggest going to a good alignment shop, other then the dealer, and see if they can fix it.

You know, I might do that. My car is completely stock. I am second owner and it has 47K on it. I put almost 4K on it and the sound just started and has gotten louder within the last 1000 miles. I do not want to sacrifice performance though. The tires look pretty new though. I am not sure if they are stock.
