G35c killer on the way!!!

Well i have said it before and ill say it again..The g35c is to slow of a car!!! Now we will get or azzez handed to us by a car that is 10.000+ less..yep the new mustang gt...0-60 is clocked at 5.1 sec..and price nicely equipt is around 25g's..so i guess we no longer have "the fastest car in it's class"..as a matter of fact for the price of a G you could probably get a stang cobra....what sux about the hole thing is that i despise mustangs....oh well time to dump the G and get into a new vette!!!! Yeah i know your all gonna say that infiniti quality is better than ford..but whos give a crap, you have a warranty if it breaks its not your problem anyway!!!

Re: G35c killer on the way!!!

if I got the g35 for power, i wouldn't have gotten it in the first place. the g35 has class and style.

if you want raw power just get the vette and migrate to the vette board.

Yeah really. I didnt' get the G to have the fastest car on the road. If that were the case I would have gotten an STI and toasted Mustangs all day.

Posts like this kill me....the G35 is so much sexier looking than the style of the week retro crap that Ford's giving us. the G35 is a classic in the making. The new Mustang is just fluff.

Re: G35c killer on the way!!!

lets make it nice and simple. buy a vette... bye.

crapstangs are garbage. none of us here got the g thinking it was the fastest thing on the road...we got it for a combination of things. i.e. luxury, reliability, styling, and all around usability.

i own a couple of other cars and chose to get the g as my daily driver not cause i thought it was so fast, but cause i liked how it looked andhow well it was made. a crapstang is a pos.

buy a vette and enjoy the subpar build quality.

Re: G35c killer on the way!!!

I'll wander into this one.

I have a 2002 Z06 & a 2004 G35

The Z06 is a true performance car - street, track & strip

The G35 is my daily driver with class & attitude

Both are great cars.

By the way, I spend more time in this forum then I do on the Vette forums.

Re: G35c killer on the way!!!

Go ahead and buy the Ford!! Some people buy cars for raw power / cheap thrills. Others buy for all around style and performance. You get what you pay for.

Autoweek review:
"As much as we love the design, it looks like a plastic injected-molded toy with its silvery decals peeled off. The lines are all there, the proportions are right, but the front end needs some jewelry, as does the rear, perhaps a bit of brightwork or a paint detail. The flanks rely on one element, that faux scoop, for the entire statement. There’s nary a pinstripe in sight, and any chrome you see is relegated solely to badge duty. Message to Ford: Monochrome themes, like ovals, can be taken too far.

Inside, with so much right going on, we find it disappointing that Ford cheaped out on details. Rap just about any surface and you’ll bruise your knuckles; pull on the steering column stalks and you’ll fear that they’ll break. The door-mounted speaker covers won’t likely survive long, either: They’re positioned exactly where you want to push the door open with your foot. Most of the finishes do look acceptable—we’ve seen far worse graining, some in "better" cars. We’d suggest a little soft-touch material would go a long way, especially toward imparting a quality of craftsmanship and a respect for the owner’s hard-earned cash.

All of that we can deal with. What we can’t comprehend is Ford continuing to equip the first 21st century Mustang with a live rear axle. We understand that an independent rear suspension—like the one found on the most recent SVT Cobra—costs more to design and build. Somehow the competition, like the Pontiac GTO or even the Nissan 350Z, squeezed it into the price of admission."

Re: G35c killer on the way!!!

Actually, i was planning on holding out for the new Mustang (traded in a '97 GT on my '04 Coupe)... however, a few things changed my mind. Number 1 being the fact that the final shipping version of the Mustang GT was pretty far removed from the 2+2 coupe prototype that was shown early this year/late last year. The released car is just too damned big.

Number 2 is the fact that at $25K, there's no doubt it will be a hugely popular car... the V6 model being more affordable and popular for teenage girls to beg their parents for.

In other words, it'll be the same scenario you see now. How many people here driving in town can say they don't see at least 1 or 2 Mustangs on a populated street at any given time during the day? Seriously, I paid attention one day here in Austin, and at no time on my 10 minute trip could I go more than 15 seconds without seeing a somewhat recent model mustang on the street.

The GT performance is of course going to be nice, and I loved the torque mine had (the '05 will obviously have more), but the G I bought just looks better, performs about as well, certainly has more style, and is nowhere near as pervasive as the stang. After the initial buying wave of '05's is over, it'll be back to the same situation... they'll be everywhere, and we'll all get tired of seeing them.

And yeah, if you bought a '35 coupe solely for a street racer, you probably should have done more research before you plunked down 35 large.

Re: G35c killer on the way!!!

Ok here we go now i get to comment...so you all consider this to be a luxury coupe hugh..hmmmm since when is it that a luxury car has such a stiff hard hitting suspension and after 1 yr turns into a vibrating rattle box?? Last time i was in a lexus or a comparable luxo i didnt feel any bumps or hear any vibrations..Usability?? how many full size adults can you fit in the rear seats and how much can you get in that trunk..some usability!! Subpar build quality in a vette??It seems that american cars have a better reliablity rate than germans latley and germans are supposed to be the best technology in the world.read consumer reports if you think im lying!! Vette brings nothing to the table?? well except maybe japenese technology and italian perfomance!!!and just to clear the record i never said anything good about the stangs actually if your read the thread correctly it says i DESPISE them!!! and lastly in regard to my driving..anytime your ready chief ,if its one thing i know how to do well is drive!!! The fact is i love this car and i am just dissapointed that it looks faster then it really is

Re: G35c killer on the way!!!

the vette sucks?

am i reading that right? what is going on in the world...

yeah the vette only has a half century long heritage of racing, class and sport... nothing to take seriously, especially when you drive a g35, right?
