projectors output not bright
hey guys i have a 04 coupe, and recently swapped to a 06 projectors using the same ballast and i think 4300k bulbs.
they output of the lights doesnt seem bright for me. i've drove cars like the
g37, 325ci's, and they seem way brighter and more noticable. are these cars bulbs 6000k?
should I swap to 6000k?
let me knows guys thanks!~

6k bulbs have much less light output (lumens). They only "look" brighter due to the color change.
Stay with stock 4300k for the most light output.... at the expense of less attractive color of course.

^ I'll have to disagree Sir. I think once you go above 6K you start to loose visibility and they become more of a "hey look at me" bulb. At night try driving next to a car with 4300K bulbs and you'll notice the difference. 6K Bulbs literally take over the road and outshine the 4300K bulbs.

4300 to me, is like a really bright white. To me, it offers the most visibility on the road at night, especially driving down those 1 lane HWY's with no street lights. You gotta watch out for those fkn deer down here in Texas.
When I switched out my bulbs, I noticed a LITTLE bit less light output on the road, but its still bright enough to be able to see. Doesn't hinder me at all though.
Me, personally, I'm not a big fan of just the white bulb in the headlights. I like mine with the hint of blue. And my 6k lights, are just a perfect mix of that. Not too blue where I lose light and it starts to look purple, but blue enough where I can still see at night and look good doing it.

At stock 4300K, output is 3400 lm. At 4800K (the popular CM model) it's down to 3100 lm. At 6K, it's probably around 2800 lm or less.

If you don't wanna lose output but want that blue flicker, the color cutoff mod if for you.

Yep. The Lumen doesn't lie
4300k Will be white/yellow
6000k will be white/blue
HID bulbs can also color shift over time, often going a bluer color (depends on bulb make).
Phillips makes both the 4300k and 6000k Ultinon bulbs. I don't believe any reputable company (ie Phillips) makes HIDS over 6000k in temp. I'd say that anything over 6000k should be reserved for a show car.
