Hey guys...this may be an odd question for a performance board but I'm tired of the expensive sticky tires on my city streets as I have had nothing but loud tire noise.

Anyone know a cheap tire that is quiet? also let me know where the new place to buy is..thanks

Generally, you can tell by the tread.

Any winter tires from Kuhmo and Hankook. You can get the "performance" Hankook tires and they're still pretty cheap.

I can tell you what NOT to buy. Nankangs. Loud as you'll ever hear.

I hear very little road noise from my Michelin's, I do recall that my B-Stones made a bunch of noise. Keep in mind your life may depend on what's between you and the road, so don't go too cheap! PM Sean (SXEXCX) he always has a line on inexpensive rubber....

Any Yokohama all seasons will do the trick.

^^^^ like he said, but specifically the Yoko ENVigor or W4S. I've tried alot of tires (I run a used tire business on the side) and the Yoko High-Performance All-Seasons are very good performers even in snow/ice. If you want long life, A/S is the way to go.

I have Yokohama 520s. They are a all-season tire (MI weather) and have been great quiet, inexpensive, and long tread life.
