HELP! Need AT shifter wiring diagram

Here is my project: I use a hand control for my throttle and brake. On the handle, I have an up/down momentary rocker switch that I will be splicing into the wiring on the tiptronic shifter. This way I can manually shift up and down from this switch instead of pushing the shifter lever up and down. The tiptronic shifter uses two momentary switches with four wires on each and another bridge wire running between the two switches.

Can anyone help me track down this wiring diagram? I already know the dark green and gray wires control the signal for up or down...but I don't know what the other wires are and the last thing I want to do is start guessing. Thanks!!

There's one here, Brian, not sure if it contains what you need. Also maybe look in the service manual, which you can also find online.

yea, I found that too. It basically tells you to flip the gray & green wires in the harness to switch the shift position. What I need is the service manual but I don't know where to safely download it from...or if I have to pay for it. Anyone know?

Thanks Gary, I looked over there for the right manual but still can't find what I am looking for. I did a few searches before posting a thread...hopefully they don't give me any "use the search" crap.

Well, I got the manual and it is another dead end. In it, there are trouble shooting tips for the manual mode switch. What I need is a wiring diagram showing what each wire is for that goes to the "position select switch." The diagram I see only shows what looks to be a trigger wire. Anyone know an automotive electrician?! haha

The guys in the NISSAN parts dept by me are very cool, if you can't find what you need ask the parts manager at your local Nissan dealership if he'd get you the information. They sould be able to look it up and print it for you.

just remembered this...there's a DIY on here and infinitiscene.com for adding paddle shifters. if i remember correctly, the DIY included instructions on which wires to tap for what you're trying to do. give it a shot.

The link to wiring diagram SwivelHips provided is all you need. The manual shift mode works by interrupting the ground. You will need a 3 position rocker switch. Connect the #6 wire (W/G) to center post. Connect the #8 wire (G)to the post opposite end the rocker switch will be depressed to Up Shift. Connect the #7 wire(PU/R) to remaining post. Ensure the switch you select is a 3 position with momentary contact, meaning it will spring return to mid position.

You will obviously still have to select the shifter to manual shift mode.

I have been looking at this manual shift mode control ckt for awhile trying to figure out away to keep my NOS system actuating until 3rd gear, and yes I have a TPS and MSD digital window switch.

Well damn...looks like I will have to go back out tonight and hook this up! Yes, I do have the 3 position momentary switch...the center position being off. If this works, I owe you one! If my car blows up, you owe me one. j/k

I would hope your car doesn't blow up.

Don't think I was clear enough on wiring. You just have to splice into the harness, no need to disconnect them from plug. The shifter will also retain its functionality in manual mode unless you want to disable it.

Yep, I figured splicing would work. This way I can reverse it if need be. Thanks again for your help!
