Question LED light strip/bar as 3rd BRAKE LIGHT??????

For all the people that had oem spoilers and removed the spoilers (or atleast thinking about it) ....

Has anyone ever tried or is it possible to use a red LED light strip/bar as a 3rd brake light .... I have been thinkin of going this route once I remove my 05 spoiler because Im not a big fan of how the oem rear deck 3rd brake light looks plus I saw on one thread that it cost ~$300 for a new one.

Any thoughts or suggestions..........

it would probably be much cheaper and efficient to buy a led bar alone from oznium.com or another place with durable light assemblies. saves you from hacking up a spoiler and finding something to give it a clean finish since you're putting on your back window. If your spoiler is intact, it will sell easier than one with a missing light.

+1 on buying aftermarket light bar vs hacking up spoiler

tapping into the brake light plug should be easy, my guess is 2-3 wires and you can just cut the plug off an old one or something else that will fit the new piece your trying to get.

I would assume the wires would be ON(brakes) depending on if its wired to both brake lights or not and a GND wire obviously.
