I am new

Hello everyone.
I am new to this forum. Well my first post but I have been reading from this forum and freshalloy a lot. Anyways, I am looking to buy a used 03 G35 or new 05 but I have some questions. Is it possible to swap out the gauges from 03 to the new 05 gauges? and same with the shifter column..I like the way the 05 looks..everything else is okay...I am trying to see if it is worth it to buy a used 03. Money is a concern

Re: I am new

why are you hating on the 04's? if you've got a problem with me say it to my face!

In all seriousness, you can get a KILLER deal now on a 2004. You'll get the best of both worlds. I would say to go for the 2004 because a few of the 2003's have had some problems (windows, etc.) that were fixed for the 2004 model year. Just a thought.

I thought the bad window motor still was a prevelant problem in the '04? Am I mistaken?

Re: I am new

I have an '04 w/ 13k miles & I have not had this window problem. My passenger side window rattled slightly when it was halfway down & I was on a bumpy road, but it went away.

no hating on 04

but 04 costs almost as much as 05...so at the moment 04 doesnt seem like it would save me that much over 05..consider if i have to change out the auto shifter and the gauges...

Re: no hating on 04

The biggest difference between the 04 and 05 will be on the 6MT model. If you want an auto, you can find a great loaded '03 for about $28k easy, vs. the $38k for a brand new loaded 05. You decide if the gauges, shifter and a few thousand miles on the car are worth an extra 10 grand. I personally am going to wait for feedback on the '05 and then make up my mind.
