Weird squealing sound.

So my car was parked at work and it was time to go home. I start it up and pull outta my parking spot. As I'm leaving I hear a loud squealing sound. What is that? Keep in mind I have an 04 and like high mileage.

Check your belts, might be squealing. Mine did the same, i just applied wd40 and it went away, if it gets any worse later, you might have to replace. Idk what the smell could be from.

Belts require they be replaced every few years, they stretch/crack and will eventually break and leave you stranded. That's exactly what you're hearing/smelling, go to Nissan and buy the OE replacement belts they're way better than aftermarket....

I get that sqealing as well, and my belts are newer OEM. Could a pulley be seized?

Less than $40 for both belts, even at the dealer. Takes about 30 minutes to change them out yourself.

If you have fairly new belts and there making our favorite squealing noise, chances are good they weren't installed tight enough....slipping.

The belts you guys were talking about are the ones connect crank, a/c and alternator?

Gary C is absolutely right. Check your belts, they are made out of rubber, they get brittle and start to crack. Also check the pulleys to see if they are loose, this can also cause a squel. Good luck!!!

Yes, they are talking about the (2) stock belts.

I had a shop install my pulleys because its a PITA. The fan assembly should be the only thing you have to remove.

........ Yes you are, nothing wrong with being new and yes those are the 2 pulleys that need to be replaced. Before you make any changes/mods to your G investigate/research whatever it is before making any changes....example: lightweight/aftermarket pulleys are a bad idea and will mess your engine up!
