bc coilover help!
I have a question about adjusting the ride height of the rear coupe g35. I have read this post https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-diy...r-install.html that the spring needs to be adjusted first. I have not tried this but I did do the opposite, i adjusted the spring to the strut.
Okay my question is, adjusting the spring first while the car is on jacks, does the spring have to be on tight (top to bottom) or can it be floating not touching the top while it's on jacks? Then when you lower the car it will apply pressure to the spring? Sry, I have been searching but can't find a good response on this. Thanks in advance.

Yes OEM type. well what I did was i put on the strut first, then I adjusted the spring to where it was snug on the bottom cup and the top, I'm almost out of thread now on the spring side. Putting the car down my rears are almost tucked, i'm thinking if i lift the the strut some more to raise the car I won't have enough treads on the spring side to tighten it snug. Am i missing something? That link above shows to adjust the spring first, do I need to do that?
I think he's trying to figure out the pre-compressed spring setting for the rear. Make sure you achieved your preferred ride height on the springs first and set the perches/collar on the height you want.
Raise the bucket with a jack and put slight pressure to compress the springs, just enough that you can move/twist the springs with your hands.
Once you do that, you'll have to adjust the shocks/damper until the hole for the bolt is slightly higher than the current height of the spring bucket bolt hole(about half of the hole). Right now the shocks are fully extracted, just remember that the shocks are the things preventing the springs to fully extract also.
Now, you have the jack the spring bucket some more to align the bolt hole in order to slip the bolt through. Make sense? This preloads the springs so when the suspension travels on full extraction, the springs doesn't move around.
Again, this is just for the rear. Hope this helps.

^^^k i did. one more question before i start messing with this. Which way do i have to go to lower the car/ lift the car? for instance, if i give the spring less tension does that higher it or lower it? Reason why i ask is i have the spring pretty tight it and it's very low, if i tighten the spring perch some more I'm gonna run out of threads. Do i have to go the opposite way to lift the drop????
On the car, bringing the rings further down the perch makes the car higher, if you just look at the setup for a second or two you should be able to figure out how changes are going to affect the ride height.
And most people say set your ride height about 1/4" higher than you want and then jack it up that 1/4" and adjust the strut to that.

okay.....someone with bc coilovers please help me out here. How low are you in the rears? right now I'm 1" lowered but want to go up more. I know I don't have enough thread on the springs to get to stock height but I just want to be 1/2" lowered> I don't even think i have enough threads for that. Does that sound correct? any help is much appreciated....
