valve body upgrade........
^^^ good post as i hope nobody tries to do this without some good automotive backround.I did my install but then again i installed all my mods inc the twins.I have also thirty years in the auto repair trade.

For anyone who wants to do a similar upgrade that AT owners can do themselves. There is a device called SprintBooster (Google it to find their site). SprintBooster is a plug-in device that you put between the plug on top of your throttle pedal and then plug the cable you removed into the Sprintbooster plug. It tricks the ECU into thinking the throttle pedal is depressed further than it actually is and in turn a signal is sent to the transmission control module that says shift now. There has been a lot of discussion on this forum whether it actually works. I have had one installed in my 2003 AT coupe for more than two years and I know it works. It provides similar results to a valve body upgrade. Notice I said similar not the same. There is no substitute for a valve body upgrade. Will a SprintBooster increase horespower...NO! Will it increase acceleration (again it will be felt most in Manumatic mode) yes! But only by removing the lag between shifts which is tenths of a second. It really increases the fun factor when using Manumatic.
Which is good enough for me. The main criticism that I have heard is that you can accomplish the same thing by just mashing the pedal quicker. Unfortunately, our reaction time is not as quick as an electronic signal.
No, I do not work for SprintBooster! Just trying to help out members who can't afford a VB upgrade. There are several other members on the forum who also run SprintBoosters.

sprintbooster...
yeah i have seen that in a magazine and am curious but i am weary about performance chips and simple plug in mods. its pretty cheap you say its worth it? what about stillen grounding kit, its like a valve body upgrade right just cheaper.
^I did both, but my Transgo kit is still sitting in the box waiting to be installed.
EDIT: If you have some money to play with then get both. You should definitely get the grounding kit since inadequate grounding is not good for circuitry.

SprintBooster
I don't have any experience with grounding kits so I can't comment. My only recomendation is that you ignore comments by anyone who doesn't own a car equipped with a SprintBooster or has driven a car equipped with one. I have read comment after comment calling it pure BS but they've never tried one. On SprintBooster's website they list local dealers that will install one in your vehicle and let you try it...that's the only way to determine if it's worthwhile for you. If you would take the plunge and don't like it they can be returned within 30 days for a refund.
I do not have it but the sprintbooster allows the car to go at full throttle when the gas pedal isn't fully depressed. Its useful if you track your car a lot.

peddle or pedal? lol
So who would know which one is better the Valve Body upgrade or the Trans Go Kit? Sounds like install cost is about the same $$ wise. Stillen used to do the Valve body upgrade, I'd have to call and ask....

They're practically the same thing. Haven't heard many reviews regarding Stillen's product. GTM Performance uses the Transgo kit for their VB upgrades.
