? about VDC

I havn't given it a run many times, but last time I did I had VDC on and it seemed to me that (i did a quick run from 60->120kph) that it kinda bogged down and didn't seem as fast as when VDC off. Is this just my imagination that it seems slower with VDC on at WOT?

Re: ? about VDC

no your probaly right you probaly are running slower with it on. The VDC is going to reduce power to the engine to regain grip so it might be reducing your power.

Re: ? about VDC

I've noticed VDC literally cut power to my engine when traction is lost even for a split secons so this is normal. Never race with VDC on.

Re: ? about VDC

Yep, the VDC actually uses a combination of the ABS brake activation and reduced engine power to regain control of the vehicle. It has already went off on me a couple of times when I got a little to crazy with the gas around corners. Seems to work pretty well. the only thing that sux is it doesn't seem to shut off all the way when I do shut it off! GRRR...

Re: ? about VDC

If u take off the LSD that is already on and replace it wit a aftermarket LSD when they come out from liek Cusco or watever. do u think that will void the VDC's effects it has even when its off? cuase the LSD thats on now is a VLSD adn someone told me that it breaks when it begins to lose traction even if u have the VDC off

Re: ? about VDC

Yeah I think it would be affected. Since both the LSD and the VDC systems seemed to be controlled in tandum by the cars computer. I believe like you said that the LSD actually brakes the ABS and or Drops engine RPMs to increase grip. So adding an aftermarket LSD might interfere with the exist since it seems to be most through the cars computer. My suggestion would be if you are going to add something like that to just disable or shut off the VDC and LSD completely. You would probably need a special computer and program to interface with the car's computer and make changes though. Sounds more difficult than it's worth unless you plan to pro drag the car or something. Hope that Helps man!

Re: ? about VDC

LSD's do not deal with a cars computer it is purely mechanical.

Re: ? about VDC

Actually from what I've read that's exactly what our LSD is. It's a cheaper way of putting a "LSD" on a car without dealing with the characteristics of a real mechanical LSD or posi. I cna double check but I'm pretty sure our VDC computer mimics a LSD but is not a purely "mechanical" LSD.

Re: ? about VDC

The VDC system does have something in it called a "Brake LSD", but the Coupes with the Performance Tire & Wheel package have a real, mechanical LSD.

Re: ? about VDC

The VDC definately turns all the way off. Turn your car on...press and hold the VDC button for about 10-15 seconds. Now its off.. Viola

Re: ? about VDC

nope- that's a dummy feature- if you press and hold it for that long, the light will go off, BUT it is actually still enabled. sounds confusing, but the jist is if you hold it for that long and it goes off, it's actually locked onto 'on' and the only way to unlock it is to turn off thecar

Re: ? about VDC

the vdc never goes completely off...wonder if you could remove the fuse if it is controlled by one

the vdc and lsd are two separate items on the performance coupe. the lsd is actually a detroit locker type in that it will spin both wheels at the same rate, as compared to a true trac or posilock that transfers power to the wheel with the most traction. a subtle difference but the detroit type is a little more abrupt and may tend to push the car more to one side as one wheel will actually be slipping more than the other tractionwise.

if you turn off the vdc an the coupe with lsd the lsd still works.

Re: ? about VDC

ReDRoK8: On Infiniti's website, of course.

You have to get into the build your own section to find out what each package actually contains... Click on the notes icon for each package, and a little window pops up with that package's features.
