Tire Removal - 18" OEM Rims
Tire Removal - 18" OEM Rims
Hey Guys.... I don't mean to ask a stupid question but I am putting my snows on my G in the near future. Snows are going on standard 18" rims. Has anyone has issues with tire changes and scratching the rims? Just asking so maybe I can find a service organization that knows how to handle rims that are painted and scratch easy.
Thanks in advance!!!

Luv2drive,
Most tire stores are now using tire mounting machines that do not touch the rim. Costco uses them, so does Sam's Club. Your best bet is to ask before the techs (?) get within 10 feet of your car!

Yeah, it's generally pretty safe. Just make sure you tell them that the wheels scratch very easily (which is the truth) and that they should be sure to be very careful because it would be on them if you get your wheels back with some scratches on them.
