Thinking about buying G35

Hello!
Hopefully I got this in the right topic, I didn't see a New member topic. Just for a intro... Im 22 from Virginia beach, va and I just totaled my 02 Eclipse GT about 3 weeks ago still waiting for insurance to take care of the loan.
Reason I joined is too look at the different versions of G35 and figure out which one to pick and what to look at when buying one. If anyone had any suggestions what not to buy like sounds or mechanical I would Really appreciate it. Currently I have my mind set on a 03 and '04 Coupe Brembos version.

I did Look around a little, Saw the TSB for window bolts and Looked through the FAQ to see which coupe had brembos among the other things that are written. And for most part this car looks pretty reliable at least the 2004 coupe was. I know to search N look through the threads I was just wondering if anyone had any personal advice.

My 07 OB G is 6 weeks old and I love every single time I drive since it has such elegance as well as it's just plain fun to drive. Personally I like black the best but honestly it just gets so dirty soooo fast. So try looking around at which color you like best

Ya Im pretty **** on what I want so it might take a while to find.
But im under same opinion as you EMT, The Elegance, It can handle a family (dont have one but that way I dont have to get rid of it), And its RWD and still sports car.
What I think I want:
Black on Black
MT
Sports Package /w Brembos
Coupe
2004 /w 70k miles or lil more - Im on little bit of a budget otherwise Id go with lower miles.

I have black interior and it looks best personally. When I bought mine it was a little out of my price range but it only had 8k mi on it so I figured it would be the smartest decision since I drive a lot and it's still under warranty. So that might be something for you to consider.

But goodluck, there are a lot of them out there for sale, and I'm sure you'll find one that's made for you

Thanks we'll see im thinking max 16,000$ for G35 so it will be little tricky I definitely cant buy one with only 8k miles lol.

If you have $16,000 you should easily be able to find exactly what your looking for probably even better...

I just purchased a 2003 LR 6MT G35 Coupe with all options with 80,000 miles for $13,700 a month ago. It has sports package, technology package, aero package, and navigation package...

Just search around a lot craigslist, cars.com, autotrader.com and you should find a good deal

Almost every G coupe has the same issues. Rattles, squeaks and poor thread wear. Also window motors, door lock mechanism, and so on.

At 70k, the oil seals on the valve cover goes bad and needs to be replaced. They will run you at least $400 for 2 new valve covers not including labor.

Only issues I had with the car were passenger door lock actuator didn't work and driver window motor auto-up goes up then down a few inches...I knew about both issues when I purchased the car not major issues

The door lock issue got on my nerves telling passengers to manually lock the door so I researched on this forum how to fix it and I bought an aftermarket door lock kit from pythonjosh and it works just as new now (Only $30 better than the like $150+ for OEM)

The window thing isn't really a big deal, I just have to not push auto-up...but I have heard that you can fix this by resetting the window motor, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
