Some people have good luck with their window motors, some have bad luck. Just search and you'll know what I'm talking about. I read where some have to replace their motor every couple months. lol. (But they used a rebuilt motor from autozone or something).

As for the seals, you can't just buy the seals, you have to buy the valve cover since the seals are "built in"... And you can just buy 1 valve cover to only replace the leaking seals... But I would recommend that you replace both covers while you're taking things apart anyways.

No, that's the valve cover seal. While you do need that when you replace the valve cover. But the oil seals on the valve cover are built in. (3 oil seals) on each valve cover. Also the valve cover are plastic. Which is probably 1 of the problems causing the leak.

Read about it here: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-cou...rranty-up.html

If you're getting one with a rev-up engine, be sure to look into the oil consumption issue!!

How would I go about knowing if the problem on the car I want to buy is taken care of cause obviously I cant test drive dealer car for enough miles to see it change as far as oil goes.

Yea...that becomes a really difficult problem. I was actually somewhat comforted by the fact that the car I bought had already had the issue and had it taken care of and that the dealer had all the paperwork to back it up (showed when the longblock was replaced and had maintenance records of the oil consumption tests)...and I was also fortunate in the fact that the dealer I bought the car from was openly honest about the car's history. I'm not sure there's much you can really do other than get a hold of as much of the vehicle's history as you can. I ran carfax/autocheck reports, called Infiniti's service hotline with the VIN and Infiniti was actually able to tell me the exact dealerships at which the car had been serviced. I then called those dealerships and verified that they had replaced the longblock and fixed the oil consumption issue. If the car you're looking at has a decent number of miles on it and has no history of the previous owner(s) taking it into the dealership under warranty for the issue, you might be lucky. Before I bought my car, I had it taken to an Infiniti dealership for a vehicle inspection and chit chatted with the mechanic about the oil consumption issue. He confirmed that this is not something they can check for on the spot, since, as you mentioned, the car needs to be driven a number of miles to be tested. Good luck with shopping though. All I can say is dig up as much history as you can!

But im under same opinion as you EMT, The Elegance, It can handle a family (dont have one but that way I dont have to get rid of it), And its RWD and still sports car.
What I think I want:
Black on Black
MT
Sports Package /w Brembos
Coupe
2004 /w 70k miles or lil more - Im on little bit of a budget otherwise Id go with lower miles.
i wouldnt go for one that old man, you can get a good 06 6mt for around 18k and brembos are gonna limit you a lot. which is kinda foolish, i wouldnt see brembos being a deal breaker at all...i would open up to something newer, you can still keep it manual but brembos aint ****tttt!!!
