weird buzzing/humming noise
so i got my brakes and rotors replaced not too long ago. i put in brand new slotted and dimpled rotors and hawk pc pads. I've noticed that whenever I drive (brakes are not being applied) there's a weird humming/buzzing sound coming from what I think is my brakes/tires area. Is this a result of the slotted/dimpled rotors? The sound sort of sound like buzzing overhead electric wires make. Is it the wind blowing across the surface of the rotors?
Is it coming from all four corners?..or is it just coming from one corner...It sounds like a wheel bearing(s) is going bad..I had my right rear wheel bearing replaced about two months ago..it sounded like a crackling/popping sound..also if I was driving with my windows up, radio volume at 0 the bad wheel bearing had a wind tunnel affect sound.
check for a DIY on here..when the tech who worked on my car showed me the bad wheel bearing it had a very slight resistance when spinned...your best bet is to take them off.
so i just jackets up my front wheels and spun them and i heard a scraping sound. i think when i had the pads installed they werent pushed in all the way and now theyre scraping up against the rotors even when im driving.
Hey I just got a 6mt coupe last week with brembos and noticed a loud rumbling noise at low speeds (say coming to and leaving from a stop sign). It's there whether if brakes are being applied or not. However, what I did notice is that the alignment is a tad off and am hoping that will resolve the issue. Otherwise, it will be a slew of mechanical trial and error to resolve this. Please let me know if your brake adjustment makes any difference.
