I just bought an 03 6mt coupe in february, great car. Up until recently I have had few issues with my G.

Unfornately, 2 weeks ago I was burdened with the infamous "CD ERR FO" message from the stock bose head unit. A little research revealed the cd player was toast. I spent the last two weeks buying one piece at a time for the aftermarket head unit conversion. Took me 4 hours this past saturday, but i made the swap.

This error only occurs with the Bose head unit, but seems to be somewhat common. So that may be something to look out for.

I have also noticed my G suffers from "axle click". It's a clicking noise usually heard from the rear of the car at low rpms. I noticed this problem recently and have been meaning to get in there to apply some grease. This issue is also pretty common, but is easy to remedy and much cheaper than the busted head unit.

Other than that, the G is great and well worth the effort. I bought a RAZO shift **** after the stock one became over-worn. It's nothing special, feels good at 150 grams and matches the dash silver pretty well.

My next upgrade will be the 06-07 projector headlights.

Good choice OP. Everyday I regret getting a 5AT. Haha. There's a thread on here about TSBs and such. Just take a look at the stickies. There's a lot of information to be had. GL!

I bought my 03 6MT coupe brand new back in 2003...love the car.

I have no had any major issues with the car. It is far from stock at this point and I have a new motor, but I have no complaints. I have roughly 113,000 miles on the shell and a little over 6,000 miles on the new motor. Everything has held up great over time, but I have taken great care of it.

Do your rountine maint and you should be fine. If you decide to mod it...beware that part can become addicting. Have fun with it!

I just picked up a diamond graphite 6mt with 46k mi last week and have noticed 2 common problems and one hopefully uncommon.

The vinyl covering over the DVD nav cover and in both of the rear passenger panels have peeled off or are peeling off due to bad glue. I've noticed a few other forums where people have had trouble with this on the front door panels and have seen another g35 with the dvd nav cover glue worn out as I was used car shopping. I have searched endlessly for a replacement for the rear ones since the previous owner decided to toss it rather than reglue it once it came off (complete DICK) or just look for a similar looking vinyl leather with similar hole patterns punched in but haven't found a thing. However, some heat withstanding glue should remedy that no prob.

The other common issue is with the door locks malfunctioning. Some claim it's the lock actuator, others this and that but all conclude that the mechanism is weak. What happens is that in hot weather (Sacramento 100 degree heat for me) the driver side lock will not lock/unlock when the alarm key is pushed, requiring manual key turning (wtf is this the 80s??). However, when I return to the cool bay area, it seems to work fine. I'm confused but have found some DIY remedies online, including a full replacement.

Uncommonly, there is a loud as hell rumble during low speed driving. Most notably when I come to a stop or am just driving around the block eagle eyeing for parking spots. I've done a search and read something about jacked up bearings, but that sounds like it makes a clicking/crackling noise, which isn't what I gots. Hopefully an alignment will remedy, but if not there's gonna be a crap load of trial and error. If anyone has a clue please let me know.

I got it on

. i wanted something to match the dash. The color match looks better in the pictures than in-person. But it's still pretty close.

I have an 03 AT.

My CD player crapped out 2 weeks after I bought. $1600 to replace under warranty. A year later it failed again. Took the plunge and did the Double Din install.

Oil on my #3 sparke plug. There is a sticky here about it. Went to change the plugs and found it. Spark plug threads were coated. Warranty coverd it also.

Everything else seems to be good though.

I probably should have clarified in my post about my 1st motor...sorry man.

There was nothing wrong with my first motor. Last year, I decided to twin turbo my G35 and fully build it. Instead of re-building my original motor with over 100,000 miles on it, I decided to drop in a fully built Cosworth VQ35DE crate motor and start with a fresh powerplant. Car runs great and she makes 550WHP and 480WTQ @ 13.3 psi on pump gas.

But yeah my original engine was fine...no major issues.

my front to rear motors on both seats went out. was able to buy a used seat and pull two motors off it (bc theyre all the same) and use them on mine at a fraction of what infiniti wanted to charge for one. and my leather panels on the doors and in the rear are all starting to peal. but at 127.5k miles - shes doing good. radio needed a nice drive gear - got it fixed for 150 & the oil coolers O-ring was leaking so i covered it in high temp RTV - ha! im so cheap lol whyd i buy an expensive car!!
