So I bought this exhaust to have it shipped to me. The problem is that in order for it to be shipped, the shop would have to cut the piping and send it in two separate shipments. Mind you its the y-pipe and back. Should I (a) try and get a refund, (b) tell them to ship it and take it to a muffler shop and have them weld it and put it on, or (c) drive the 7 hours and have the shop install it?? All help is appreciated

 

why cant they just disconnect the joint between the y-pipe and the mid section?

 

That doesn't sound right to me. I'm sure there's a way to ship it as is. The exhaust isn't broken up into sections?

 

Its a custom exhaust so I'm not completely sure.

There's no reason I can think of that they can't cut it and ship in the same box. Sounds like they're trying to make some extra $$ on shipping like most companys/individuals do....

take a lady friend or good buddy. drive up that day to get the exhaust installed, report back to the hotel, get ready and explorer the night. Drive home next day.

or heck do it all in one shot.
