Re: D2S or D2R???
For our headlights we need the D2R lamps. The "R" is for "Reflector Type" and the "S" is for "Projector Type." If you get aftermarket bulbs, they are machined to fit D2S and D2R housings. The 6000K bulbs I have fit perfectly in my G35 and fit perfectly in my mother's ML projector xenons. They aren't the Phillips 6000K, they are another type.

Hope that helps.

Re: D2S or D2R???
You can make a D2S work in the stock housing with a slight modification to the base of the bulb. The D2S will provide a little more output as they don't have the ceramic coating on them. However, you'll loose the 'sharp' (I use that term lightly) cutoff that the 2R's will give and you'll have to aim them down a little further. They'll have more of a halogen type cutoff and beam pattern.

Re: D2S or D2R???
i did, there was only 1 seller, and hes from taiwan selling "german made philips 6000k D2R bulbs" for $275ish a pair. not worth the price or the worry that it'll be some BS bulbs from taiwan with philips written on it.
