91octane or 94octane

I live in toronto driving an 06 ATM Coupe G35, was wondering is it that much better to pump 94 octane? Which companies would you say has the best results shell, esso, sunoco, petro?

I'm not entirely familiar with the G35 ECU's because I haven't played around with tuning yet, but some with some cars you can feel a difference with the stock ECU and other cars you need a map for certain octanes to make the best performance with them. I haven't used higher than 91 because anything higher isn't readily available in NV so I suppose someone with more experience with that can chime in.

Unless you're really looking to spend the extra money for a slightly higher gain (I would, hehe) then 91 is sufficient. I'm pretty sure the performance gains from 91 vs. 94 is negligible until you get a tune, but again I don't know how well our stock ECU's handle higher octanes.

Switching brands and octanes (as long as it's within the recommended octanes) isn't going to harm your car. No one brand is really "better" than the other... It all depends on what you feel works for you I guess. There's an endless debate about which brand is the best but at the end of the day, gas is gas.. I'm a die hard Chevron fan though, but that's because it has run really smoothly in my car and it's worked well for me so I don't feel the need to go experimenting with other brands. There are cheaper brands but I don't mind paying the extra money.

When I had my GTI, I bought a half tank of 94 octane for $60 from the VP gas station on Prater and Pyramid. The 100 octane was $7.50 a gallon

^ yeah there's a VP there and off 7th and Keystone, but that's kind of out of my way just to get gas.. Chevron/Shell at every freeway entrance/exit on my way to work and school =D

I get bp 93 its the highest around where I live and costs the same as 91 at other stations, I don't think anyone would notice a difference going form 91 to 94.

You're not going to notice any difference between 91 and 94.
