That's fine, I'm sure they build fast cars but if they told you they could make your VQ35DE put out 350whp all motor they are talking out their a$$.

ive gone to mrd to get work done on my honda a few years ago...i know they build fast hondas and nissan 240s. this would be the first ive heard of them working on a vq motor. id would give some of the nova/md shops a call to see what they can do, they seem to be more vq focused. Dave a function tuned, hills garage and elite imports.

With barely any VQ experience 350whp just won't happen all motor. And the shop obviously doesn't know the strength of the 5AT tranny. Honestly, it's weak as hell and you'll need a transgo valve body upgrade and a cooler at the least. A built tranny to hold over 370-400tq is what I'd recommend which will run you another 4k, unless you buy mine that I want to sell.

Very. You will be far better off with an LS swap if cost/labor is of any concern.

i was gonna do a valve body upgrade anyway. would it be cheaper to do a brian crower 4.1 stroker kit with shop install or procharger with shop install? i would think the s/c would be easier and more cost effective, how much hp would a 4.1 stroker give us?

Since you're auto and probably only want 400whp no point in doing a stroker. Just throw on a TT kit, build the motor, build the tranny and you're looking at 500whp.

If your going to build the motor, might as well stroke it. Get in touch with Ryan at Injected Performance, their a vendor here, and have the fastest Z in the nation. Trust me they know what their doing.

Here's how hard a titan swap is:

-fabricate motor mounts
-fabricate tranny mount
-buy a tranny adapter from drift ephorium
-get a new custom clutch from exedy
-modify the shift linkage on the tranny because the transmission will be pushed back a bit
-fabricate a shorter drive shaft
-get a tuner to reflash the ecu
-find a vk56 motor
-fabricate a shorter intake manifold
-fabricate a intake
-fabricate new headers
-fabricate a new oil pan

exactly

i realize a lot of people are jazzed about engine swaps now that its becoming more common in g's and z's now BUT... we arent talking about an ek or eg civic here. a LOT of fabbing (not fapping) is required. there arent very many titan swaps out and even less or the same amount of 2jz. it looks like jeimport perf is turning out a great service w/ their 6.0l swap. ive heard great things from customers ab reliability, power, driveability, etc with the ls2 swap. and to defend the domestic lovers for once, the ls2 is an awesome engine for tuning. one guy actually went to say its like driving a prettier, lighter, factory gto lol. im considering doing it in the next few months.

I would say the a vq37 swap would be a good bet since it fits into the new chassis it shouldnt be to much different fitting it in a g35 besides wiring and mounts, plus those motors can handle around 600 on stock internals, check gtm motorsports g37. It would be alot easier finding parts over a rb26 and on top that at least it will still be a true Nissan/Infiniti...

^^ good luck with that. I've yet to see an HR swapped into a non-HR chassis. There's a good reason why.

Now a 37HR into a 35HR is doable, but pointless.

Z1 motorsports brought out their 2 Titan supercharged V8 g35s to zcon and I rode in them...amazing, but alot of work.

Injected also has a near stock looking G35 sedan that is cranking out over 1000whp with a built, stroked and turbo'd motor with a gm 2 speed tranny. no joke. I seen it in person and watched him win the dyno competition at RPM in Chicago. The proof is there that they know what they are doing there.

Again, do some search and read up. Asking the question is easy, but researching on your own is much more of a respectable action in a forum.
