Randy, I wonder how it determines your RPM from just the electrical signal from the lighter plug.

 

It detect alternator pulses to determine the RPM. Pretty nifty.

The accuracy of the HP and TQ reading is largely dependant on how accurately you input the actual vehicle weight (not published weight).

No doubt, lady luck was on Randy's side ... couldn't have happened to a nicer person

Also, smart thing to do about copying the dl#'s. This way if they would have kidnapped you, stole your car, robbed you, etc... Your buddy would have had their info to hand over to the police.

 

Awesome story, Randy. Hey quick question - how come your dyno graphs say FlyWheelHorsepower, not true WheelHorsepower? Was your car dyno'd on rollers or did they take off a couple wheels and attach the measuring tool directly to the rear axle?

Neff, I did open it up a few times and received kudos from both as to how smooth and quick the car was...get this, he's owned a G sedan before, but gave it to one of his salesman to have a car that was nice to haul clients around in....yeah, that was the point of the DL# request...see, I do have a few marbles left.

Well, as I mentioned in my post, I couldn't hook up worth crap, which was obvious in my 60ft times (2.2 and 2.3)...I was launching at the same rpm I was NA, cuz that's all I knew...I need to learn this NEW car all over again. I have Bridgestone S03's, but they are better for road racing than drag...I'd prolly do better with stockers cuz they are smaller and I wouldn't worry about burnning them up at the beginning...I wasn't heating my Bridgestone's up for the sake of thread life...and regarding the trap, corrected, that's like 105-107, which is a good trap for all of the loss on the launch...basically, I made up for the crap launch with power once I hooked up. There will be other nights...I only got 4 runs cuz a Camaro spun out on the track, an M3 blew his motor and spewed oil all over the track and a Civic dropped his tranny at the end of the track....total down time for all = 1 hour, 30 minutes...you guys would have hated it. See you later.

Not sure if I can get a kitchen place for next Wed. So far, you are the second person interested in the Gtech...when I have 5, I'll contact the owner to see what he can do...as far as a pic...it looks identical to the one on their website...titanium finish with amber screen...I'll see if I can post a pic. You'll know if I can make it next week as I'll post in the SoCal forum.
