You'll never guess who I met at the TRACK...
Sorry this is so sloppy...trying to type quickly!
Okay, so first, let's get the numbers out of the way...let's just say, this is a WHOLE dif car. I couldn't launch it worth crap and kept spinning my tires through 1st and into 2nd. With that said, my fastest time was 14.2 with a trap of 100mph...NOW, before the flaming begins, I only got 2.3sec 60 foot times which shows you how bad my launches were. AND, because it's LACR (2700ft above sea level), the corrected time is actually around 13.7 and 107mph...SO, anyway...while I was there last night a guy in an M3 blew his NA motor...he came up to me while in line waiting to run and asked which way I was driving home. I told him I took the 405S and he asked for a ride for him and his buddy! At first, I was like, WHAT, then he said, look bro, I'm the one driving the M3 that blew up...I just don't want to call friends to come way up here when I could possibly get a ride...I put some thought into it and thought how if I were in that situation, what would I hope for and said ok, on one condition, I take your driver's licenses and write down the numbers and give them to my friend (ELDY)...they agreed, so I wrote their DL#'s and names down on paper and gave it to Eldy. While I was writing the # down the guy laughed...I asked him what was laughing at and he said, "have you ever heard of GTECH?", I said, "of course I have, they make the unit that measures 1/4 mile runs and 0-60 times through an accelerometer...great product..." he says, "I own the company"...At this point I'm thinking CHA CHING! So he hands me his biz card and sure enough, his name is the same as on the DL and it says CEO, President...his name was Jovo, a Yugoslavian gentleman. So anyways, we get over to his M3 with a broken wing and starts to take things out of his car to put in my trunk. I ask him if they ever get any Gtech's refurbished that I could get for a good price...the guys says, "here" and hands me the one in his hand and says, "it's yours!"...then, he says, "wait a minute, I can't give you that one, it has the runs from tonight on it", then he reaches into his car and gives me a brand new Gtech Pro SS unit and manual and says, "let's calibrate it to your car!" I have to say, this guy (and his friend) were the most down to earth ppl I've ran into in a long time...we talked all the way to there shop in Santa Monica and they were VERY cool. I have to say, this GTECH unit is AMAZING! I'm able to see SOOOO much about my car without going to a darn track now, and I can actually run my car at sea level and get real times...I would def rec taking a look at this unit...the new unit has an amber face so it matches the scheme of our cars...you'll love it....if I get enough ppl interested, I'll approach him directly about a group buy...they plug right into your cigarette lighter and after 4 minutes of calibrating it to your cars specs, it's ready to go!
Anyway, sorry for the long post and sorry if you were expecting me to say I ran into Michael Jordan or someone like that, but in my book, ppl like Jovo are celebrities to enthusiasts like me....

Re: You'll never guess who I met at the TRACK...
Quite a lucky night indeed.
I'm curious as to why the guy "blew his motor" on the M3? Only early-model 2001 M3's had that "blowing motor" issue.

Man that's some great stuff, good runs with your car and def. improve those 60' times and you'll be seeing some LOW numbers, lucky night =) Get me one PLEASE haha, i used my friends and it was VERY accurate, my times are ont he bottom and thats with my 19's on, i imagine with it being a little off, i would get close to same maybe even less with lighterweight wheels and good tires, cant wait to track my car!!

I guess, by the weight of the car you enter...then it calculates acceleration...they claim it's very accurate

I have the g-tech pro, and its by far the coolest thing ever. My best time on it is 13.813 at 103mph. Its a very cool little gadget to have, I love mine.
