Rear Axle click AGAIN >?!
i didn't notice mine at all until i was driving in a very echoey parking garage with the windows down. I'm sure it's fairly audible if you're outside of the car and someone is driving your car...but i wouldn't know because no one else has driven mine yet!
Guys maybe I am way off the boat here, but I am a bit confused. I have a 2003 6mt and bought it with 14k on it and at about 17k i got a rear axle "clicking" noise that i could hear when driving next to a wall with passenger window down, the noise would bounce off the wall and into my car so i knew it was there. it was passenger side only. i am almost positive all i did was take my wheel off and tighten the center nut on the hub and the noise was no longer there and has not been, i have 21k on the car now and the noise has not re-appeared. OBVIOUSLY this must be a different clicking noise from the rear than you guys are talking about- but maybe for some the solution will be as easy as mine was and have nothign to do with greasing anything?
^^agreed. Another way to listen to it is to take off slowly near a wall so that the sounds from the axel will echo off the wall back to you.
I was the first in OHio to have my axels redone under warrenty at 12k miles, and just had them redone at 60k because they click again. If it was under a year from the original work, it would have been free or under warrenty. Since I was out of both, the shop manager knows I am the president of the G35/37 club in ohio so he cut my rate in half and serviced the rest of the cars fluids and grease. It can be done cheaper. I would check around or talk to them. Especially if you already had it done once. Be sure to get it fixed before your warrenty runs out or it will be over $350 to pay the deal to do (without a discount)

It's really an easy fix if you can turn a wrench as previously mentioned. For those who are interested I did it recently with Valvoline Syn Power synthetic grease. http://www.valvoline.com/products/br...ower/grease/63
Works like a charm and we'll see how long it lasts. Mine started clicking at a little over 71,000 miles and the dealer refused to fix it under warranty since I was slightly out of the 70K limit.
