Houstonians

I'm planning on buyin a G35Coupe in the next few months but i was wondering... when i went to the Infiniti dealer in Houston in November, the sales rep wasn't very helpful and didn't seem very interested in helping me out. Did any of you have the same problem? if not, could you recommend an Infiniti dealer in Houston you had a good experience with? thanks!

Re: Houstonians

Welcome to the club, I got my coupe at West Houston Infiniti, worked with a Russian guy Alex. My experience was really good, other than the fact that they didn't give me much for my trade in they were really nice, helpful, called me to let me know what was going on, and whenever they had a car come in that was unspoken for he'd let me know what options it had and the like, so overall i had a really good experience there. Good luck with your purchase.

Re: Houstonians

I bought a 6MT from Southwest Infiniti - Houston. Salesman was Tom Lyons. Best car buying experience I have had, this includes, MB, BMW, etc. Chose one on "the available list" and left $1K depo. MSRP pricing, $50 doc. fee. Waited about 5 weeks, but I got an every option car. (the cheaper ones coimng in were all sold) Having remembered that the one coupe I looked at had strips/ tint, I called to tell them not to do that stuff to mine, "no sir, that is your car, we don't do anything that you don't order. " They called within a couple of hours of the car arriving, had it ready to go the same day, called the next to make sure it was OK, filled it w/ gas when I came back for the plates, sent me a thank you fruit basket, etc. Try them. See Tom - he's a nice old guy. Tell him Steve w/ the BS 6MT sent you.

Re: Houstonians

I bought from Mike Chea and Jeff Parker at North Houston Infiniti... very nice buying experience, I would definitely recommend seeing them... Last month, North Houston Infiniti was number one in the nation for new Infinit Sales. Much bigger selection than South Houston infiniti. If you have any problems trying to get a test drive at any of the other infiniti dealers, just go to North Houston Infinit, ask for one of my salesmen, tell them Johnny Nguyen told you to ask for them and I'm sure they'll let you take the 6spd coupe out for a short test driver (4 or 5 blocks). FYI, I got mine for 37465 fully loaded black on black (6MT, prem, navi, aero).

Re: Houstonians

I just ordered mine from Southwest Infiniti. My salesman is Mike Brooks, an Aussie. So far so good.

They are building a dealership on the Gulf Freeway (owned by the Southwest Infiniti people) to be opened in June (I'll believe it when I see it) and will provide the same service (loaner cars, 2 years of routine maintenance) there even if you buy at Southwest Infiniti.

I ordered mine with exactly what I wanted - Ivory Pearl/willow leather, premium pkg., wheels/tires, spoiler, door strips. It's supposed to be delivered in July.

Re: Houstonians

I bought mine from Neil Thompson at North Houston Infiniti. It was my first buying experience, so i have no basis for comparison, but I will say it was a very simple experience. I had a trade in, got a quote, and found a car pretty much exactly how I wanted it, except for a few things that were beyond anyone's control.. Service has been great so far. I just wish I didn't have to drive so far to get there since i'm located in the med center. Good people, good atmosphere, good service, good product. Before you buy from another dealer, check them out first. Actually, there are 3 dealers in Houston. I'd suggest checking all of them out and not just going to one..

Kongz: Did you get the rear spoiler on your aero pkg? I'm a little concerned how mine will look (I've never seen an Ivory one with a spoiler).

Re: Houstonians

no... it originally had one, but i asked the dealer to flip flop trunk lids cuz i didn't like it.. i like something a little more streamlined like the one seen on the IS. i don't like too much sticking out of the back. but you probably need that to get the full effect of the zero lift aerodynamics that infiniti claims..

Re: Houstonians

Got mine from North Infiniti from a guy named Rick. We spoke on the phone a few times, after a week or so there was 1 on the lot that was unspoken for, he called, I came the same day, we said hello and he IMMEDIATELY HANDED ME THE KEYS AND SAID "SEE YOU IN A FEW MINUTES"!!. He didn't ask for ID, TDL or anything else, all he did was shook my hand and gave me the keys to the CB 6MT. I drove the car around the freeway for a few exits, came back and traded in the 330i, had them put on the spoiler, came back the next day and picked it up. They even gave me a loaner car because they wouldn't have the spoiler on until the next day (too bad it was the i35). I'm thinkin about also getting the FX, I'm definitely going back to North Infiniti.

Re: Houstonians

Got mine from North Houston also...I talked with Mike Chea initially to order the car but he has been gone for a while now, surgery or something like that...but anyways, then the sales manager pointed me to Neil Thompson to close the deal, very nice guy, very recommended...service is excellent there also, i always talk with Edgar whenever I need something serviced or just some general service questions, very nice guy also

Re: Houstonians

I bought my G from West Houston Infiniti and had a pretty positive experience overall. I originally chose them over North Houston Infiniti because they seemed to have more in-stock G's with the options I wanted according to the online inventory listings (Southwest Infiniti was too far away to be worth the trip).

I didn't feel like we were ignored or mistreated in any way, we were greeted shortly after getting out of the car, and once I told them I was interested in the G35 I was test driving one within 5 minutes. I dealt with a guy named Lonnie, who I believe is actually the internet/fleet manager, and he was pleasant to deal with.

I haven't had to go in for service yet (only 1700 miles so far), so I can't really comment on that. My purchase included 3 years maintenance, but I think all the Houston dealers offer that (competition is a good thing, I don't think that's common for Infiniti dealers in most places).

Re: Houstonians

Mike Brooks no longer works at Southwest Infiniti as of yesterday. I'm dealing with the internet salesperson now.

My car is supposed to be in tomorrow. There are a few G's in this shipment, so maybe yours is in too. I've been waiting since Feb.

Re: Houstonians

I believe Mike Brooks transferred to the Gulf Freeway location (also owned by SW Infiniti). He told me they were going to have some un-spoken for G35 Coupes to start off their inventory.
