Possible VDC problem??
Possible VDC problem??
Well... I picked up my new G35 today ('04 6MT loaded) and was driving home in the rain. I turned off the VDC to see what it would do around a corner... I hung the *** end out nice. Then my nav route changed from my programed house to the "nearest infinity dealership". When I tried to turn the VDC back on the light wouldn't go out and the SLIP light was on. The Nav screen is stuck on "Please return to your nearest Infinity dealer..."
Is this a problem? Or does the car just freak out when you make it misbehave?
Thanks.

Re: Possible VDC problem??
Thats strange. Take it back to the dealer for them to look at it. You don't wanna have problems wit ya VDC.Oh yea and dont tell them what you did. Just tell them the lights and screen on navi just came on.

Re: Possible VDC problem??
Took my new G35 back to the dealer (Agincourt Infinity) on Friday (with 153km's on it) and they re-flashed the computer (VDC software update I was told).
They explained that some customers reported that if they were in a drift in an almost complete sideways direction with the LSD locked and tires spinning fast, and then pushed in the clutch to abort the drift and re-gain control of the slide, the VDC yaw sensor would spike and cause the VDC to be disabled and go into protection mode, even though the VDC was disabled.
The new software is setup so the PCM does not monitor the yaw sensor when the VDC is turned off to prevent any false alarms when driving on the edge.
I was very happy with the service I received.
