Traction control won't stay off?

Traction control won't stay off?
Just installed my plenum spacer and wanted to do a little spirited run. So I hit the vdc button to turn it off. Went through first gear, shifted to second, "chirrped" then my slip light came on and cut power. Any ideas? Is this normal?
