I stole this from www.6mt.net - Someone posted over there that if you're locked out of your car, if you call someone that has a spare remote of yours. They can point the remote into your cell phone while you have your cellphone close to your driver's side lock and while they press the unlock key, it will actually unlock your car.

I believe this has to do with DLP and the sound being carried over through the cellphone. I thought this was pretty amazing! It's nice to know that you can do this if you are ever locked out.

I should note that it may not work from house to cell, but try cell to cell and see if it works. It may have to do with frequencies. Its worth a shot.

I would be surprised if tihs actually worked as I believe the remote works on radio waves that aren't audible and thus wouldn't be transmitted over a cellphone.

 

It was confirmed to work on the FX. I'm going to have to try on mine sometime. Again try 2 cellphones. This may be an Infiniti thing, hence the reason it wont work for the Benz.

I tried for about 15min and its a no-go for me!

 

Just tried it with a pair of Verizon phones, couldn't get it to work. Myth busted!

What a load! External RF thru a cellphone. They barely carry audio and have never been designed to carry anything else. Why not get a pizza delivered thru the cellphone speaker. It will work as well.

Well, it's not totally inconceivable that a bitstream could get imprinted onto a cell phone signal and be retransmitted from another cell phone. If the phones were analog I'd say that maybe it would have a chance, but I think with a digital system it is far less likely.
