Slight hesitation/shudder at idle?

I'm wodering if this is normal. When the car is at idle in drive or in neutral, every 1-2 seconds I can feel a very slight shudder from the engine that otherwise runs silky smooth. I can also hear it if I'm listening to the exhaust, it sounds like a weak "thump" in between the normal exhaust sound. The engine has burned absolutely no oil at 2600 miles and runs very smooth so maybe I'm just picky but I want to know if you guys get this too.

Re: Slight hesitation/shudder at idle?

This is pretty normal for the VQ engine. I've noticed the same thing with my G ever since i first bought it. Adding a Grounding Kit reduced the noise somewhat, almost is nonexistant now, but once in a while i still hear it. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

That's good to know as I've never owned a VQ before and I'm enjoying the smoothness every day I have heard alot about these grounding kits but I never understood how they work and what exactly they do. Can you clear this up for me? Thanks

yeah mine idles kinda ruff.. when i'm idle you can feel the car has a slight pop every few seconds. That's normal? i think that shouldn't even happen on a new car. I might just take it in.

Re: Slight hesitation/shudder at idle?

Glad to see someone other than me hears/feels the same thing. I, too, feel the slight shudder. I though I didn't break in the engine correctly. I'm at ~3500 miles right now and still feel it. I hope this is normal and not a sign of bad engine break in.

Well if we are all experiencing the same thing I would think it's normal.

yeah when you start the car on a cold engine and tap the gass for few seconds I hear in the engine as if the car was going over really dry leaves then it stops. Dealer says it normal becasue of the type of engine i guess... i have 5AT
