What about the check engine light?

 

I'm running on FI HFC right now. The sound is awesome, but I got rasp after 3500 rpm. I emailed FI to ask about the rasp, and they told me my stock exhaust couldn't handle the increased flow from the cat. So, they recommended me to get an exhaust from them. Lol...

 

weird i had FI HFC with stock exhaust and it sounded great no rasp or drone. Anyway i was extremely happy with my FI HFC. good welds and no CEL.

ART pipes are good won't throw a cel either but I've read with a stock exhaust might cause rasp.

I'm running these and the difference in sound was unbelievable from the OEM cats I had replaced. So much mor agressive and a lot louder too!
They won't throw errors and I believe that they will pass smog too!
A few more bucks won't put you in the poorhouse just don't buy that Latte for a few weeks.
Get the BERKS... lot of deals out there too, remember that "Search" is your friend...

ive heard of berks hfc collapsing on the 350z forums.... is this because they were probably FI ? has anyone who isnt FI ran into these sort of problems with them collapsing or whatever ?

My exhaust sounds great since I installed BERK'S HFCs that compliment my HKS exhaust and Magnaflow crossover....finally no restriction issues.

Is the magnaflow crossover replace your HKS X pipe? Didn't know that your replaced it!

I am a sold person on FI products, but with that said, Berk offers great quality as well. You can use them without tune, any pipes. Just research if you want 300 or 400 cell, ceramic or metallic. The install is straight forward, obviously with hfc's you won't have fumes as you would with test pipes, and you won't get a CEL (obviously with test pipes you can bypass the code with o2 simulators) or if your test pipes come with the "L" bending bung.

 

Mine sounds exactly as it is in the previous clip except for the rasp. Lol. But that is tolerable to me since I rarely go pass 3500 rpm. The note is not much louder but a lot deeper, especially noticeable at low rpm. I say get one and you wont regret it.
p/s: don't forget you will get a bonus of 6-8 ponies from it as well even though I barely notice the difference...

HFC all the way... Cats are the most restrictive part on our oem exhaust. HFC>Axle back! You will also have better power gains.

 

check engine light comes on when there isnt a difference in the o2 sensors before and after the cats.. soo test pipes resonated or not will throw the light. ART pipes i heard do not. and HFC's if they are doing their job will not throw the light
