I have an AT 07 coupe. I hear a short grinding noise everytime i put it in drive and go. It happens only when i park shut off the car n restart n put into drive. Is this a tranny problem? If so its at 46k does the warranty still cover??? Help!!!

 

Should be under warranty give them a call.

 

I have a 05 and mine does something similar. It's kind sounds like a gushing grinding sound coming from the front somewhere. I can't figure out where its coming from.

 

I have an 03 it does the same thing. I am pretty sure but not positive that the grinding noise is the the anti lock brakes checking them self?

 

yea that sound is the ABS self check, you should only hear it once everytime you restart the car. Its completely normal.

 

Mine makes a noise kind of like an old AC compressor engaging every time I start to drive after a cold start. It lasts about 1/2 a second and does it between first and second gear shift. It only does it once. It does not do it when the car is already warm. Climate control is completely off. No problems associated with the noise.

There may also be the feel like a compressor kicking in but I'm not sure. But if so, that might mean it is something in the ABS. Not sure. But, it does it every day and nothing is going wrong so I'm assuming it is something normal.

 

I call it the cold g35 fart start, it only happens on a cold start i hear this small actuator motor sound . Like ive read before its the ABS brakes checking themselves. thats what im going by

 

definitely the self-check for ABS, happens more pronounced when starting out on a hill

 

I don't think mine is the ABS. I know that sound. It's a clicking sound. Mine sounds more like when you take a rubber band and hold it in between your finger and snap it and it makes that boing sound mixed with a gushing sound. It only happen after car has been sitting for a couple minutes not running. Then when I start it and take off you hear it.
