Scratched Door Pull Trim
Hey guys,
I had lots of scratches on the driver side door trim so I decided to sand the scratches and ended up sanding the whole thing. It actually matches the alum. trim in my 06 much better.

To take off the door pulls, insert a flat head screwdriver into the little slot towards the bottom of the door pull. It should just pop off.
I used 350 grit to take off the paint, then I used 1000 grit to smooth it out. It's really important to sand in the same direction or you will end up with crossing lines in the alum.
After that, I used some "Mothers" polish to get rid of the fingerprints. I am sure you can continue polishing it and make it really shiny.. but I wanted it to match my console.

It's possible you could have accomplished the same results by using a very fine polishing compound or cleaner wax if it wasn't too bad. I took the easy way out, ordered some c/f overlays for my pulls so I will never have to screw with it again....ever!
