Why some people shouldn't be allowed to drive
Why some people shouldn't be allowed to drive
Someone emailed me this clip and I thought I'd share it with the G's. Hope the mods don't mind...
This guy could have so easily killed a few people. This is the best reason why you should keep it on the track and off the streets... and hopefully it will be a deterrent to anyone wanting to push their car's limits on the roads!

It took a real idiot to come up with that 'smooth move' didn't it?
I agree take his licence away....more than that, put him in jail for a while to cool his heals.

What gets me there are people applauding the crash. This dipstick could have killed himself and the biker and the morons in the crowd are clapping and whistling.

Wonder what all those people were doing standing on the side of the road....and why that person was filming that car.

Wow, that really sucks for him. That's funny how the scooter almost got owned, lol. Was the guy trying to drift or was he just trying to take the turn fast? Either way, the crowd is retarded for cheering and applauding.

Re: Why some people shouldn't be allowed to drive
It absolutely chills my blood to hear people clapping and laughing on that clip, and that some people's reactions here consisted entirely of ridicule. The car might be totaled, the driver or passenger could have been seriously hurt or killed, and the biker almost got hit. This is funny? What the hell happened to compassion for others? Sure it was a poor and quite possibly stupid move on the driver's part to take that turn in that way, but for people to laugh at a serious situation like that just sickens me.
It reminds me of an event I witnessed (participated in, actually) a couple of years ago here in NYC. I was crossing an intersection on foot and as I did I heard a pedestrian on the siedewalk behind me saying "hit him!! hit him!!" in a very agitated tone of voice. A moment later a car went whizzing by behind me, inches away. Obviously, I hadn't noticed it coming and had inadvertently put myself at great risk of being hit.
The stunning realization that dawned on me afterwards though, was that not only had the pedestrian who saw it coming not yelled "look out" or something to that effect, he was instead actually *rooting* for the car to hit me. If it had, there's no question I would have been very seriously hurt at least, and quite probably killed (the car was going at least 40 MPH). I wonder how he would have felt had that happened. Would he have walked away savoring the rush of the carnage like he'd just seen it simulated by stunt men on TV? Did he understand the difference between what had hoped would happen and a TV or movie simulation of it? I've never fogotten that moment, and the chilling glimpse into the twisted mind of some people that that guy's point of view represented.
I see more and more of this kind of attitude these days. It's extremely troubling to say the very least.

Re: Why some people shouldn't be allowed to drive
From 20/20 it is funny because no one got hurt except the driver. You can see him tried to counter steer too but it was too late, simply went into that corner too fast.
You know most people want to see other people get hurt these days that's why the other guy screamed hit him instead of warning you :-P Just look at William Hung, he's popular because people want to laugh at him.

"From 20/20 it is funny because no one got hurt except the driver."
---What's in the least little bit funny about the driver being hurt? How funny would you find it if it had been you in that video, or someone you love, and they ended up paralyzed? How would you feel if you had to spend the rest of your life in a wheelchair and you knew that witnesses thought your accident was simply hilarious?
"You know most people want to see other people get hurt these days that's why the other guy screamed hit him instead of warning you :-P "
---If "most people" (I assume you're including yourself) enjoy seeing other people get injured or killed, we're doomed. Fortunately I know you're wrong about that, but the fact that you view it that way is deeply disturbing. And you ended your sentence with what I take as a dismissive "razz" toward me (the :-P emoticon). So it appears that not only do you enjoy watching other people suffer, but you're dissing me for objecting to it. What a world.
"Just look at William Hung, he's popular because people want to laugh at him."
He's in on it from the git-go, and is himself undoubtedly laughing all the way to the bank. He's a self-deprecating comedian, in other words, in the long tradition of Abbott & Costello, "Earkle", "Dumb And Dumber" etc. Hung's a pretty lame comedian, but that's what he is nonetheless. Laughing at his expense, with his consent, has nothing whatsoever to do with taking pleasure in seeing people injured or killed in accidents.
I hope someday you get over the illness in you that makes you regard other people's suffering this way.
