or what is a clutch drop?

Okay, but seriously... When you rev up your engine with the clutch engaged, then release the clutch quickly with your tach up, you've dropped your clutch. Most of do a slow release from a red light- you balance your clutch and gas to get a good launch. When you've dropped your clutch, you've just basically gone to 2k and let go of the clutch in a split second.

Not the best thing for your car, which is why I only do it on Fords.

good definition.... definatly hard on clutch and tires..... not something u wanna do unless ur at the track and even then.... haha i wouldnt want to do it in a car that i cant afford new tires or a new clutch on

It's also referred to as "dumping the clutch"

A "dropped tranny" would mean that your transmission died, could this mean the same thing for the clutch also?
