So i've been having problems with my sunroof for awhile.
It always creeks and sounds like metal scratching and such when i close and open it. (the glass has scratch marks on it too)
I have tried to lube the hinges and rails but it makes no difference and i think its a problem in the back of the sunroof..

Anyways is this how far the sunroof goes back or is mine just stuck?

It should go all the way back! Take a clean rag and WD40 and clean everything you can see and reach....everything. I do this every six months and it always works perfectly and doesn't make any noise.

I think that's as far back as it goes if I remember correctly.

I'm leaving work in a few minutes and drove my G35 today... I'll check how far back it goes while I'm warming the car up to go home and get back to you in like a half hour with a definitive answer.

Hmm... so seems like some peoples go all the way back, some dont?

Confirmed.... I just checked and my '04 Coupe goes back as far as yours(the original poster) does.

From the inside, it appears to be about all the way back, but from the exterior you can see that it's actually about 3/4 of the way back. I don't think there's enough room in the roof of the Coupe behind the sunroof to allow it to go all the way back.

 

Yeh from inside it seems like its all the way back, i was just suprised by how narrow the glass really opened.

I mean cmon, i dont even think i could stick my body out the sunroof without getting stuck! haha
