Ok what are people paying for their clear bra's? I went to this guy today on LI who claims to be the only one on long island that does it and he quoted me 700 for the full kit!!! Also wanted 250 for tint!! All sounds a little high and he just smiled and said im the only one that can do it. Well I'll be damed if Im gonna pay 200 more than everyone else and 100 more for tint so what are people paying? I've heard around 500 for a full kit.

Re: Clear Bra Price?
I paid $850 for my clear bra (!). But before you laugh, here's what I got:

1) ENTIRE hood done (all the way up!)
2) Front end including lights and front half of fenders.
3) Backs of mirrors
4) edges of doors
5) front portion of rear wheel wells.

Material is 12 mills instead of 8 mills. Except on the lights - where it's 20 mills (!). Complete custom install. All edges are wrapped - (as opposed to just ending at the edge - like the pre-fab kits).

Was it worth it? To me, yes. =)

Re: Clear Bra Price?
www.clearbra.net - and that price includes installation which is NOT trivial (took them about 8 hours of work).

Chaster, do you know what kind of film they use? That is, what it is made out of? This was brought up in FreshAlloy, and another poster claimed that they used vinyl rather than a urethane based film.

Re: Clear Bra Price?
Here's what I got quoted, straight from the installer's e-mail:

The installation charge for all of the kits is $86.60 including tax. The installation for one kit is $70.36 including tax. There are 3 kits for your vehicle. (1 kit) Hood, Fender, Mirror $281.39 including tax. (2 Kit) Bumper Kit $346.34 including tax (3 Kit) Headlight Kit $75.72 including tax.

Anyone know if these are reasonable prices?

Re: Clear Bra Price?
I paid $780. This is what I had done:

Custom install with wrapped edges, not a kit. There are virtually no edges with the package I got done.

Complete front bumper
Complete Hood
Complete rear bumper
Front fender wings
Mirrors

Re: Clear Bra Price?
Mcleo19, it's 3M brand - but a thicker grade than the pre-cut kits. It's definitely not vinyl. One note though - they don't do the grill (at least, the installer here in Oregon didn't). I get the impression that it's too much of a pain in the butt.

Re: Clear Bra Price?
this may not be that big a problem for lighter color cars, but for darker, have you seen that where the film is attached to the car, there's a weird glare that you get when a plastic or clear covering sticks to some other surface? i saw an FX45 with the clear bra and around the areas with the bra, there's this weird distortion and glare...
