Re: 05 Coupe wheels (first person opinion)?

Today I had a chance to see both the 19" forged and the 18" wheels on '04 coupes side by side at the dealership. What really distinguishes the 19s is their brightness due to the fact that they are more of a silver than gray/graphite color like the 18" wheels. Also the spokes are thinner. This allows you to see through the wheels better and appreciate the disc brakes/rotors. To me they are less "busy" than the 18" wheels. Also 19" wheels are very rare on a sports coupe/sedan around this price range. The more expensive M3 comes to mind with stock 19" wheels. That being said, the novelty of 19" wheels on a stock car makes them LOOK like aftermarket wheels.

I see your point, it is rare for a coupe to come stock with 19's........and by the way, the M3 comes stock with 18's, 19's are an option!

'03.5 G Coupe, 6 speed, Bose, Nav, Ivory Pearl / Graphite, 350Z airbox, more MODS to come!

I'll miss my 2003 wheels- I've always been of the opinion that they're one of the most beautiful wheels on the road today.

A much larger issue is going to be the Bridgestones. Check out tirerack comments, z owners and the treadwear on the sidewall. Just wait until you see the comments here in the forums.

couldn't find any bad reviews on the bridgestones... assuming the ones on the G are going to be the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A... In the reviews i've seen those have good dry and wet weather performance... Who knows though... until they're here and people start driving them, you don't really know

The wheels look OK to me, but they are too narrow to carry serious rubber. They are 8" and 8.5" wide and carry 225/40/19 and 245/40/19 tires. They should be 8.5" and 9.5" wide (like after market wheels), and carry 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 tires. In any event, for a performance wheel, IMO, they wont ride or perform as well as an 18" Nismo wheel. Also at +30mm in front and +33mm offset in back, they should look a little tucked in (like the stock 18s look now). JMO.

Re: 05 Coupe wheels (first person opinion)?

i was just at the dealers tonight and saw their first two 05 coupes on the lot. it was dark but i was able to see fairly well and i really liked what i saw. the rims look nice. both had the wheat interior which look very similar to the current willow interior but a bit darker. i guess all the interior colors now come with the dark charcoal-colored dash trimming and center console. the previous willow interior had a soft grayish/brown dash and center console. overall the interior looked nice. i especially liked the new powered recline on both seats.....i thought the previous manual recline was so ridiculous for a "luxury" car. as for the new 19" wheels, i thought they looked pretty good. they definitely have that "stock" look to them but still very sporty nonetheless. i don't think it happens very often for stock wheels to come close to looking like aftermarket wheels....they always look different in my opinion. at least on most cars. but overall, i was very happy with the new changes. i plan on coming back in a few days to check them out during the day.

Honestly does it matter what they look like? If you're a car enthusiast & you want your ride to look different than all the others out there then you'll be replacing them w/ a set of aftermarket wheels anyways. Before I even bought my G I knew what two sets of wheels I wanted to choose from. IMO stock wheels are boring regardless if they're 18's, 19's, 5 spoke or 7 spoke...they're still stock.

if you ordered a 05 at coupe and was told your eta was in december, i would try contacting different dealers in the area. they may just happen to have what you want. of course, if you were very specific with the options you wanted, it may be more difficult. but if you special ordered in aug, the normal wait time for orders is about 3 months. so that sounds about right, i think.

Re: 05 Coupe wheels (first person opinion)?

Unfortunately all of the enthusiast sightings of the new coupes do NOT show the 19 inch wheels. The autos only get the 18s, even with the wheel and tire package.

My question is: how much will the brand new 19 inch wheel and tire combo sell for on ebay? Unfortunately the glut of them on the market will probably drive prices down...

2000 Audi S4 - 400hp/450ft-lbs (sold 8-14-04)
1991 Toyota MR2 - 130hp/140ft-lbs...just as fun

The 5AT gets the 17" standard, 18" optional (Performance Tire and Wheel Package) and 19" optional (Sport-tuned Suspension Package). The 19s are indeed and option with the automatic, and from what I've heard many of the first ones being shipped to dealers have the 19s.

A2G

I've had the brochure since last week. I compared it to the '03 and the '04 brochures. All the exterior pictures (except 3) are non-original to the '05 brochure. Wheels have been airbrushed in, people have been airbrushed out, and they have even changed the color in three of the shots. All the Athens blue cars were Caribbean Blue in earlier shots. BTW, the rear shot of the blue car has been around for quite awhile. I first saw it as a left hand drive Skyline. They airbrushed the emblems on the trunk and moved the steering wheel. Aren't computers grand? You may be seeing what you think you're seeing.
