Tell me you're kidding with this pic, right?
A G35 with a gay bumper (not that there's anything wrong with that....)

There is no footnote to substaniate the above statement. There is no press release or mention of this on the Nissan/Infiniti corporate web-site. This would be a major announcement, not mentioned as a matter of fact.

Newbie: Where did you get this info from?

I can't wait to see one in person on the road. Price tag is way too high for me, but I wonder what kind of club these cars will start? Will it go with the G's or Z's or what?

G35C = 3500lbs + turbo + AWD + HIACS + structural support and we are looking at something close to 4000lbs. Obviously lightweight material will be used to save weight, but I really doubt the weight will be lighter than the G35C.

I wouldn't worry about it. You're assuming they are starting with a stock, fully outfitted G35, which they won't.

My guess is that leather, power seats, nav and the like will be thrown out.

I don't know, i saw 2 door and 4 door old skyline b4. they have alot of goodies inside the car. I really don't want to see a skyline that's like stripe down like evo or sti. I want to see something like M6 similar. I really think the new GTR will be good. After all, it has been called ""東瀛戰神". It means ''The Ultimate warrior of Japan'' That's what they call it in Asia area.

those pictures were actully posted on a japanese magazine. I have the scans for them, just not on my laptop. I'll go search on 6mt where I first saw them. The bumper was only fashioned to have some sort of bumper, nothing is final. they were simply testing different engine configurations. There is more than one picture of that car, its not photoshop.

whatever it is..i am excited about it but no way is it going to be end all sports car in the segment, not even close, there will be many beating it stock, ofcourse it will make for a great custom job car but I doubt it will be able to match vette performance, but since it really will be priced in the Z06 price range, it should really forget about the crown..

but still would love to own one myself, since i have not been to get a hold of the coupe and am stuck with the sedan

I agree. However, who knows, there may be some hope for it yet, given that it won't be based on our G35/Skyline platform. Don't get me wrong, the G35 is great, but its much too heavy and the body and frame aren't stiff enough to base a sports car with supercar levels of performance on. But since the GT-R will be on an entirely different platform, that gives them basically an entirely clean slate upon which to build the best sports car that they can from the ground up, rather than modify an existing platform which wasn't originally built with that purpose in mind.

It looks like Toyota is doing something similar with their next Supra / Lexus supercar project.

All I know is Fall 2007 is a loooooonnnnggggg time from now. A lot can happen in 3 years. And that's released in the Japanese market. By the time it comes here in the U.S. it will probably 2008/2009.
