Notchiness at 4000 Miles

just an update at 4000+ miles now notchiness is almost gone, I use to shift it with my palm closed but now just using my fingers without moving the wrist..maybe its true about what they say it takes about 4000 rpm to break in the transmission....

I'm almost at the 500 mile mark, and I can already notice that the noticess is abading. On some occasions, it's still very notchy, but other times, it's smooth. I can't wait til it is 100% silky smooth.

hey it probably will never be 100% smooth, we have a '98 Z3 bimmer with 19K miles, sometimes its as notchy as the G, sometimes its silky smooth...

If you guys don't like the notchiness, I think I heard a guy took his to the dealer who just adjusted the guideplates and the notchiness is gone.

Honestly, I prefer notchy..but not too notchy that you need to put an effort.

i'm at 4k too. Most of the etchy scraping feeling is gone. sometimes it is hard to get into 1st though. And I do still get the burning smell when I run the car hard. I hope nothing is falling apart in there. Oh well that's what recalls and manufacture warrantys are for.
