pcv valve

I have searched and searched on here for a diy pcv valve change and a fuel filter change and either I'm just not typing the right thing in or I'm a complete idiot. Any help would be much appreciated.

Shane, the gas filter is inside the gas tank and doesn't require changing for a long time. I asked the same question a few years ago cause I was used to changing them on my Z. Facing your engine I believe the PCV valve is under the first hose on the left valve cover. Remove and shake it, if it rattles put it back your good or if it doesn't rattle fill it with carb cleaner with your fingers on both ends shake it until it rattles and you're done except blowing it out. As long as you can clean these valves they never need replacing....

What made you think the valve was having a problem?

Well I have a damn nosie that almost sounds like a motor knock when my car is at operating temp, but I think that is from my clutch or throw out bearion bc when I put it first and let off the clutch the noise goes away. Also another thing is my car idle is way low, when its warmed up my cr idles at 200 rpms

You don't need to have a problem to check the PCV valve, it's like fluid levels and belts....common sense tell you to check those especially on a high mileage G....

Gotcha didn't realise that ones one of those things. At any rate I checked mine today and it was all good. What are the symptoms of a bad one, I guess that is a better way to ask for the info I was looking for.

Check your throttle body. With the amount of random oil this thing puts out it can gunk it up causing the low idle.

So to clean the tb you unhook the battery, take the intake off, and unbolt the tb from the plemnum? And I guess clean it with carb cleaner? I have heard these things can mess up easy
