Couple Questions about the new Whip!

Hey all, Im still getting used to the new whip. Had a question about VDC...

1) What is VDC exactly? I can never get a clear answer.. What I gather is that its like traction control, but even when its off, it still wants to control the wheel spin.. Is there anyway to completely disable that so I have free spinning wheels when I want them?

Have you tried doing a SEARCH under subject VDC disable? I believe this isn't the first time someone has wanted to get rid of the traction control.

+1, when I turn off VDC, my tires just spin.

IMO, keep your VDC on for daily driving.
It could mean a lot to avoid an accident.

Its description is in the owners manual and yes its the traction control system. Keep the VDC on until you know how the car better.

With VDC off, my tires spin fine.

So you take the time to click on the title, write out a response, and yet all you wrote was to SEARCH when you could of gave him a clear answer? half of your posts are telling the OP to search when you dont even need to post at all.

Many of us have the same issue of the vdc kicking on even though you turn the switch off. There is a write up on how to disable it completely on here. Try searching for yaw off switch, i believe that it should come up. You basically wire up a on/off toggle switch to the bosch (yaw) sensor under the center console. Switching it to the off position will eliminate vdc completely while the switch is off.

i spin like a bitch with VDC off haha

VDC= Vehical Dynamic Control.

A sudden change in surface consistency can affect your car's stability during evasive driving. Vehicle Dynamic Control* uses various sensors to help determine your steered path and keep you in control. If your vehicle begins to understeer (plow forward) or oversteer (fishtail), VDC applies appropriate brake pressure to individual wheels and/or reduces engine output to help keep your vehicle on its steered path.

*Infiniti VDC system is designed to help improve driving stability, but does not prevent accidents due to abrupt steering or by careless or dangerous driving techniques. Always drive safely.

interesting that some of you claim that even when off the vdc still limits wheel spin. I have an 05 coupe with the sport package and when my vdc is off I can spin all day. What year/package do the rest of you have?

I'm with Triple, I never have problems with wheel spin or VDC kicking in on my '05 until very hard cornering (but that can be defeated with the method of bypassing YAW mentioned above).

I would leave the vdc on for a while until you really know your car. Unless you're tracking it leaving it on isn't really going to kill your performance or anything. It's pretty easy to get sideways with it off which isn't always the safest thing to do on public roads. I'm speaking from experience.
