dropped something in the intake manifold

I was uninstalling my plenum spacer before taking it into the dealership for the air bag recall and other warranty issue and I just realized I only have 5 of the white washer for the upper plenum when installing the motordyne spacer.

is the white washer still stuck somewhere in my intake manifold or has it been completely burnt and fried? if its still stuck somewhere in there would anyone know where I would go about searching for the washer?!

Thanks for your help

Do not start your car....you will have to completely take off the lower intake manifold to search in there, if you dont find it, you might have to manually rotate the engine manually with a ratchet and stick a boroscope through each intake valve into the cylinder to look for it.

it is currently at the dealership getting warranty work fixed. the car has been turned on, I will try to ask them if they can take it out for me while working on the car, but if they can't will I still be able to do it when I get the car back?

The damage has already been done if in fact a washer did fall down inside. Is it a plastic washer? (If it is plastic its still not good that it was ingested but if it was a metal washer REALLY REALLY not good)

its the plastic washer that comes with the motordyne plenum spacer hardware kit that attached to the inside of the upper plenum.

is there anything I can do when I get my car back?

I am pretty sure they drove it since its been sitting at the dealership for 2 weeks, they did change my valve covers and I think that requires the plenum pieces to be taken off right?

I'll ask them if they noticed anything in the intake manifold

Are you sure it fell in the manifold and not just in the bay or floor somewhere?
If you're sure it fell in and it has been started then its just what hotel said. The damage has been done. Those are some thick washers if I remember correctly...

I checked the floors and its not there so there is a possibility it fell thru but I am not 100% positive it did... I just wanted to know what are the bad outcome of it being driven several times as I am sure it is since its been at the dealership for a while

You could have been super lucky but i doubt it

You can get bent valves and etc.

Well if you think you dropped it on there floor remember there is a possibility it most likely landed on the top of the plastic under carriage fairing.

Lol, people get something lost in the manifold and post for the community to enjoy

When the simple answer is, try and get it out

You didn't need to remove your spacer for the air bag recall! There's a 99.9% chance they wouldn't notice and if they did, so what. Only plastic I recall when installing my spacer were those spacers that go between the plenum and manifold. When I drop anything when working on SLICK (except a wrench) if I can't see it I consider it gone and move on. Our engine compartments are like a "BLACK HOLE" when you drop anything....
