Intro of a new member and my G!
What's going on fellas, I've been lurking the forums for over a year now, patiently waiting to find the right G35. Just wanted to introduce myself now that I finally got one! It took me forever to find a clean black or blue 6spd coupe w/ the brembos, etc! A week ago I found a 2003 black coupe, 6mt, black int, 84K, and the seller was 4 hours away from me. Asking price of $12,750.
I went down to check the car out and found that it had all maintenance up to date with brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, all new Brembo OEM rotors and pads, and many other records from the dealer. It had a clean carfax and the seller said he would take $12K even.
I had a mechanic check it out and two of his buddies helped too. They put the car on a lift and said the car has never been wrecked, doesn't leak a single bit of fluid, and looks to be mint! He said when he usually does a pre-purchase inspection he can usually point out several flaws or at least a few recommendations. He said the car could use new power steering fluid soon and a little splash of fluid in the clutch res.
So needless to say, I bought it!
Here are a couple pics:

Turns out the guy before me got the windows tinted the legal limit with heat resistant tint so that saved me a couple bills. Other than that first few plans are:
remove the front plate holder (and find a bumper plug)
detail/wax/touch up rock chips
06+ projectors
oem front lip
spacers
z-tube, not sure which filter yet...
plenum spacer
oh and of course my pass side window motor died the 3rd day I had the car...
But first off I'm going to do some maintenance. I'm planning on changing the fluids first, especially the motor/tranny/diff. oils. This is where my questions (finally) come in...lol. The previous owner said they have been using dino oil, so would it be ok to switch to synthetic now with 84k? I've read you aren't supposed to mix them and if I just drain the motor oil, all of the dino oil will not be out. And I'm going to use OEM tranny fluid, but I searched and couldn't find out if Nissan makes OEM diff. fluid?? If not, what do most of you guys use? And is http://infiniti.sewellparts.com the cheapest/best place for new OEM parts?
Sorry for the long post, just excited y0!! Thanks guys-

Thanks for the kind words everybody.
Yeah, I think the rock chips are b/c the owner was in the military so when he did drive it, it was across country half the time. I was reading something on here about Dr. Colorchip and everybody swore by it...never heard of it, but I'll give it a shot. The guy said he hit a raccoon so he got the front bumper repainted or else the it would have way more chips. I wonder if that stuff works with scratches? There is only one scratch on the car that is noticeable enough to bother me, on the rear bumper.
There are a few chips in the grill too, will probably sand it down and paint it black.

All cars get rock chips. Only way to avoid is to keep the car in the garage and never drive it.....
Or you can stay far far behind other cars, especially trucks.
