HFC inquiry..!

ive been searching the forums and google for the past hour but cant seem to find the answer that I want so here i am.

basically i am someone who wants a deep/loud sounding exhaust tone, without the money to buy a full exhaust system. so I have decided that i am now a poser who wants the noise without the actual power HAHA

right now i only have a z-tube, and jwt pop charger and now i only have like 300$. so i am now looking into high flow cats that give me that deep louder tone with stock exhaust. what in your opinion is best bang for your buck in the hfc department

I have Kinitex, run great, sound great, and add to performance. Check out the market, you can find used ones for low price.

With only $300 you need to ask Santa for another couple hundred to buy new HFCs. I'm really sorry but they'll add close to 10 more HP which you didn't want. I wouldn't buy used cats, you don't know what's been run thru them aka poor quality which could hamper their effectiveness. Check out our MARKETPLACE under vendor exhaust for Berk's HFCs.

yeah i'm on the same route with you.

i love the sound of the VQ. and the exhaust i want is about 1000 + dollars. Honestly I rather spend that on a nice set of wheels than exhaust.

or you could go with the replica route.

but HFCs cost around 500

Like LaserRed, I am running kinetix myself w/hks hp exhaust. Made the tone deeper and a lot more crispier... I got the kinetix hfc for 360 during the thanskgiving sale, which was 19 off the regular price. So now, if you chose kinetix, it should cost you aorund 380 or so...GL!!!

OP, I should have a used set of Kinetix HFCs that I'd be willing to sell that would be well within your budget in approx 1 weeks time. I can shoot you a PM if you're interested once they're for sale.

I'll take that increased power you don't want

Berk HFCs are the way to go. Lots of people have them. Never heard anything bad about em. I'm about to pick up a set of F.I. Resonated TPs. Hope all goes well with those cause I'm looking for the same things right now (Sound/power)!

Go with berk or kinetix. Although when I did serach on this forum under HFC for berk, I saw that there was posts that mentioned throwing the check engine light on. Nevertheless, Berk of Kinetix in my personal opinion.... GL!!!

Test pipe is some sort of cat delete for the exhaust system. It is a straight pipe that would connect from your exhaust manifold to the exhaust system. If it is resonated then the resonator will reduce the increase noise the t-pipe will create. In your budget, you probably can get a test pipe, plus get much more power with it. Only thing is the exhaust fumes....

^So what would be better in terms of deeper/louder noise + HP gain?
Test pipes sound a little illegal to me.

That not quite the only thing, if you're caught replacing the cats with test pipes or art pipe (almost the same thing) there's a major fine and the chance of having your G impounded depending on the laws in your state.

Yeah just googled and read up on what test pipes are.. sounds like a lot more trouble than its worth. Will most definitely be going with Hfcs. Looks like berks and kinetix both get good reviews, but looks like from their respective sites that berks is a lot cheaper so yeah..
