I read the owner manual a few times but still couldn't figure out if the driver seat is supposed to move forward/backward automatically (like the passenger side seat) for rear seat access?
Yeh, both sides are automatic. Just tilt the seatback forward and the seat will move forward, tilt it back upright to move the seat back. (provided the corresponding door is open).

My infiniti service guy told me there's a bulletin out on the seats cuz a lot aren't goin back automatically, its probably a cable problem he said...when mine was having that prob., i yanked the pull flap thing a little bit, its behind the drivers seat at the bottom and now its working again

Sigh. Wasted a trip to the dealer only to find out that the driver seat won't go forward/backward automatically unless the parking brake is set. I wish Infinity would put that in the owner's manual.

Ouch! Its things like this that make waiting until the second model year before buying a good idea.
However, like you guys, I just couldn't wait!

I think you need to get that checked out. It's only supposed to move when the doors are open.

I think we're talking about flipping the seat back forward to let someone in/out of the back seat area and the seat moves automatically. Pretty tough if you're moving !! ...dean
