Sucked up water

Was forced to drive my 04 g35 couple thru a flooded zone ;(
Car made it thru but could def feel the gulp of water tht bogged it up but keep running. Once there I pulled over an it idled fine but in neutral I rev'd an could not surpass 3k rpm. I had no option to drive the 5 miles home an it ran fine as long it wasn't taken to 3k rpm an if so it bogged up so I'd let off an stay under 3k rpm, now sitting in drive way. What can I do besides taking it to the shop? Way to flush? Or jus let it sit for day or two an drip/dry out? It really felt like a pressure back up, no clicking which I hear would be like piston or valve damage so thts good I suppose.

If it were my car... I would start by pulling all 6 spark plugs out, and cranking the engine over for a bit. Let the pistons pump the water out if there is any left. Then I would also consider putting just a little motor oil in each cylinder, put the plugs back in and fire it up. The engine will burn the oil out but it will keep the moisture from doing further damage. (this goes back to quads and dirt bikes that have been burried in swamp water.

Check the oil on the dip stick, and make sure its not milky... I would even change the oil just to be safe... If it does not run right after that do a cylinder leak down test if you can, if not take it to a shop to have that done.

^^, what he said. Also, I would check the MAF sensor to make sure it's not wet. That could explain the bogging at RPM. Also, take apart the whole intake system and dry it out thoroughly. Another option that some people do is sea foam to eat up any water in the system. If you're going to be doing an oil change it may work to go ahead and run the sea foam and then do the oil change all at once.

I had this problem before in a nasty rainstorm, my car wouldn't go past 2500k, and some people called this condition "limp mode" anyways went home disconnected the battery and didn't drive it for a day, then it worked perfectly again. But i think it has to do with your MAF sensor being wet.

so your car was submerged above the bumper? i doubt...no i highly doubt you sucked up water through a pop charger. prolly just have a bad MAF.

You hit deep water it will rush into places you never expect. I doub't you sucked it up, but I don't doubt for a minute it splashed and tidal waved into things it should not had. Passenger compartments on new cars are pretty tight, thats why a newer car will float for quite a while before it sinks.

I know 4 wheels trucks, you hit a big water hole, even if its only 2' deep water/mud will still rush over the engine hood and sometimes even up the windshield.
