Help.. Center Console is dead

03 G35, *all the lights and buttons are not working on my center console (stereo,AC) the stereo still plays and works with the steering wheel controls but everything on center console is dead except navi controls. Where should I begin?

I would check the fuse first

Its the curcuit board that controls a/c and radio controls.Soon you will have the ac blowing on full blast and the radio working and then dying.Just search the audio section as this was a common problem with the early G's.

+1. It most certainly is not a fuse problem, and will be an expensive fix.

You can try to get it back temporarily by hitting the side of the console really hard. Don't laugh, it's worked for a lot of people. Unfortunately, this is one of the most common issues to pop up with the G (mostly 03-04 models) and the long term solution would be to go the DD route. Sorry to be the bearer of such bad news.

you're going to want to buy the JDM DD kit and get a new stereo altogether
thats gonna fix it permanently

ive read people who just fix their OEM stereo just have this same problem again later down the road

key word in this is the JDM Double Dinn kit. DO NOT GO cheep with metra. it will fail and the quality is bad.

i had the exact same problem just last. Got the Metra DD and Pioneer navi system and problem solved. Was going to get the JDM kit but i can't justify the price with the JDM kit = $319 vs Metra kit = $150. The only difference is the buttons and with the JDM kit, you'll lose the dual climate control feature.

There is also a guy on ebay that fixes your current unit for a fair price.
