Hey guys I test drove an 06 coupe 6mt today at the dealer. I noticed that the side markers were missing, they just had black covers.

According to carfax and them (west coast auto sales in Montclair) it has never been in a car crash or anything. My question is, do some gs come with no side markers? And what are the signs that a car has been in a crash?

I heard some dealers get away with selling crashed cars which aren't reported to carfax. Thanks in advance.

 

Any pics of said covers?

As far as I'm aware all G's come with side marker lights on the front bumper. Or, are they there, but tinted really dark maybe?

 

ALL G's MUST come with side markers. I mean replacement side markers can easily be bought for around $20-$30 but the excuse the dealership gave you sounds fishy to me.

Yes, they all have OEM amber corner lights / side markers. Are you sure they are not just tinted lights? Either that or they monkey rigged some covers....? Pics!

 

Maybe I'm just over analyzing the car has had 2 owners.

 

It has the side markers from the link that you posted, they've just been painted over or tinted.

Another weird thing is that the ad doesn't say it comes with navi, and while I was in the car I noticed it had one. I even asked the sales man and he said it didn't! I didn't say anything of course.

 

Is that an '05 wing on a '06 coupe? So there's been some basic mods (tinted OEM corners and probably swapped trunks with someone) but that's no big deal really. As long as the engine bay and interior don't look like they've been ripped apart by a monkey looking for a donut and it drives well you're probably OK. Car looks prety nice, low miles are good, get the Infiniti extended warranty for sure.

 

Yea the side markers are just tinted black some people like that look. some paint them to match the car's color. Sounds like the dealership isn't very knowledgeable in car's because the Navi is another excuse to add another 1k+ to the price of the car..

 

yea its just tint...lolz but this is the first time ive ever heard someone think of it as a cover...hehehe...no offense or anything its just funneh....

 

What we have here is another example of car salesman retardation. The previous owner made some modifications which the salesman had no correct answer for, not unusual. Make sure you get a CARFAX if you're going to buy this G along with an extended Nissan warranty....just to CYA!
