Re: M3 owner saying hello

How about a 300hp Laser Red Coupe, 6MT with Brembos and some tricked out aftermarket rims to take for a spin? That ought to be a pretty fair trade for an hour or so... and I promise that I will come back w/ your M3 after the hour's up, honest...

Someone please take a photo from my profile and make me a cool sig...

Deal. I checked out your pics...those rims are awesome. I wish I had real pshop skills and I'd help you out with that sig. Actually pshop is overkill, I'm still working through all the features of MSPaint.

Re: M3 owner saying hello

"I'd smoke you in a race...M3's suck!" Sorry, I had to play the troll part of this thread to fit the genre of most boards...anyways, nice car. When I was looking at the G, I was looking at the M3 too but decided it was too much $. Now, I've put more money into my G than I would have if i just bought the M3! Oh, and just so you know, I had those rims FIRST, right Neff?! =)

Wanna see mine?

Re: M3 owner saying hello

hey, how much power can you get out of an M3 going N/A? i meet a guy today saying hes got a friend with 460+ hp, smoking vipers with only N/A mods. he said with that carbon fiber $4000 intake with race cats, headers and exhaust hes running at 360 or so already, and after cams and ecu tuning, he'll be close to 460ish.

true or BS? i always had thought that the M3's were basically already tuned to the max. squeezing another 100+ goign n/a seems outrageous to me. is he using ricer math?

btw, i love m3's. such sweet *** cars.

Re: M3 owner saying hello

BS. Carbon Fiber intakes like; gruppe-m, AC Schnitzer, da-motorsports, etc... are all just fluff IMO. The largest gains claimed are like 15hp (sound familiar Injen owners?). Race cats won't do squat since the E46 M3's in Europe only gain 10bhp w/o restrictive cats. As far as exhaust, if he wants to gain anything all it will be is a weight reduction of maybe 30 lbs if he goes with something like the Eisenmann Meisterchaft Titanium exhaust.

Headers, well I'm not 100% sure of the gains by themselves. I do remember reading one post on Roadfly where someone added the headers and the racing cats. They also did before and after dyno runs and got +22rwhp gains, but that's no where close to 460-ish at the crank, much less at the wheels.

Modding a M3 is more difficult and more expensive than modding out cars. They're more "high strung" coming from the factory, thus making it more difficult to really squeeze hp out of. Keep in mind, most of their mods are in the THOUSANDS of dollar range each. The only mod I think I could afford would be the "GISMO".

i spend a lot of time and almost equal amount of time on M3 forums then here, and i talk to alot of people who have modded ones here in NY and my friends, yes with all of those bolt ons you can get up to about 360 hp at the crank and that's a lot of money also for like 30 hp if that, and with an ecu or shark injector or some kind of chip basically all that is good for is rev limiter removal and top speed governor! But they are coming out with full SC and engine rebuild kits like Evosports, $25k for an engine rebuild with lower compression and forged internals with a blower and installed and tuned also! If i got an M3 i would def. be going for that, 600hp crank and 500+ at the wheels, heres a few pics =)

Re: M3 owner saying hello

yeah, the cf intake the guy had looked like that evosport one, but larger, and without the supercharger, but rather a cone filter there. it looks like a whole intake manifold. hes got full titanium exhaust that weighs only 15 lbs!

Re: M3 owner saying hello

What kind of M3, E36 or E46?? I would be VERY surprised if it was an E46 mainly because 1) Ive never heard or seen this "690" hp M3 2) They arent that easy to tune, the E46 M3's!! The E36 engines are bulletproof compared tot eh E46 and those are the M3's that are running some SERIOUS #'s, any video's, pics, more info??
