Just Picked Up My 2005 G35 Coupe

Finally picked up my 05 Coupe today around 5pm. It was raining a little and pretty dark so couldn't get a good pic.

First Impressions:

1. The 19s are definitely better looking in person... they seem bigger than in the pics.
2. The ride was surprisingly not as harsh and stiff as i anticipated... you could definitely feel that its tighter and you feel the road imperfections more but not as bad as i thought. I can't comment on the handling differences but the steering is very precise.
3. The interior materials do seem better than the previous interior. The dash angle is better IMO, and the aluminum trim gives it more class than the old painted plastic.
4. The motorized nav is cool, it closes automatically when the car is turned off. The tilt function is cool. Haven't played with it intensively yet so can't comment on anything else.
5. I like the new guages. Someone said they looked cheap but IMO they fit the coupe quite well and are much better than the previous flat ones.
6. Didn't notice much difference with the coupe leather seats compared to the old ones... they do feel a little softer but not much really.
7. The new seat back operation is cool. There's a button for putting the seat forward to let a passenger in the back. And the seat slides back to its previous position so you don't have to readjust your seat position.

Thats it for now. I didn't get a chance to play much because it was raining and dark... i'll play around with it more tomorrow hehe...

Man it feels good to have it :-) i think i'm the first one with a 2005 coupe here... at least the first one that posted hehehe.... Definitely the first one that bought it from my dealership... modding will begin tomorrow hehe

No aluminum pedal on the emergency brake? That is odd, because at Everything G35 they sell a "factory aluminum pedal kit" which includes aluminum for the e-brake. Check it out at - http://infinitipa.zoovy.com/product/ALUMPEDAT

In any event, please post more pictures!!

Congrats,
Prolix

Re: Just Picked Up My 2005 G35 Coupe

Thanks guys hehe...

G35WANED - it is fully loaded, the Nav doesn't come with the alluminum... sucks but it still cool.

votran24 - I got it for 37295 without TTL. I didn't even have to haggle or anything...

minnnnnn - There's a joystick on the left side of the dash that controls the movement. It goes up and down and the steering wheels comes in and out... But for the most part although the telescopic function is cool, it doesn't come out all that much really...

Prolix - that pedal is probably the clutch pedal for the 6MT. You can use it for the e-brake but from the factory, its not meant for that..

This is serious wishful thinking, but did they improve on the Bose stereo any, I mean more than just adding MP3? What are your impressions of the stereo, and the MP3 feature? Thanks in advance.

Orange stitching on steering wheel is hot. Same with the real aluminum dash. I hope it doesn't scratch too easily!

Re: Just Picked Up My 2005 G35 Coupe

Congratulations....I think your first to post the arrival of a 2005!

Your car is beautiful, and I wish you all the luck, enjoy and be safe.....
The Interior looks really nice, the gauges and the console really dress up the interior.....

I'm not a big fan of the orange stitching,.....but it could be the pic that makes it look a little funky.....

anyway.........I wish you all the best with your new ride......I think the changes move the car in a postive direction......

hmmmmm......I wonder what the 06 will look like?
